The second house that Gerald Dickson and his wife Tina, wanted to see was an early, nice brick cottage, built in the year 1950; with huge windows and tall ceilings. It had not been renovated to the degree that the previous day's Tudor cottage had, and a lot of the old features had been maintained. The fireplace had not been outfitted with hissing gas logs but burned good old-fashioned wood, and the windows were original rather than tilt-in replacements. Sarah liked it a lot better, except for the carpets that covered all the floors. But as she explained to Gerald Dickson and Tina, there were bound to be hardwoods underneath, and refinishing floors is no big deal, or so Sarah gathered, although she never had to do it herself.
