Chapter Two (Er)

Why do I actually agree to be his friend? I didn't have a solid reason, but now I think I do. If I become Qian's friend I can get close to Xaoran. It's not like I still like him, I just wanna find out if he's doing drugs now, or maybe he's killed someone. I do know he can't just be an expert after our marriage. He must have trained himself for the four years before we got married. So if I start from being friends with Qian, I can graduate to gf and bam I can infiltrate Xaoran's territory. This is the last year of night school, I need to put him behind bars. With determination, I went to school the next day. I put my hair down today, used some clips to hold my fringe to the side. I applied little makeup to look attractive and dressed nicely-for once-with my buttons all buttoned and my shirt and skirt ironed. I wore a blue 'All Stars' snickers which matched my blue pleat skirt which was knee length and blue long sleeved jacket. I also applied rose scented perfume. I remember always being timid and cheap, but in this new chance of life, I'm not going to be timid and cheap and drooling over some criminal. This new given chance of life was going to be my best life. I got out of the bus and made my way into the school. I took out my phone and visited my QQ account. I checked Mt profile picture. I almost puked. I was looked so timid and 'cute' in the photo. I quickly took it down and replaced it with a gorgeous powerful look of me. "Xin yen!" Hua Fen called making me turn. She caught up yo me and walked with me. "Morning." "Morning, Hua Fen." I greeted with a small smile as I continued my scan through my QQ account. I also changed my autobio to a more respectable one. "I'm proud of you!" Hua Fen praised. I turned to her confused. "Weisheme?" "You changed your profile and autobio, also you drew with Chen Qian! You're growing faster than I!" Hua Fen praised. I smirked. "Obviously! Unlike you, I'm not gushing over Xaoran." "Says who!" Hua Fen exclaimed. "Just two days ago you drew another picture of Xaoran! Since when did you get over him?" Oh! That's true. At this time I was gushing seriously over him, but now I'm here to change that. I'm going to also bring him down in the process. "Was I?" Hua Fen huffed in disbelief. "Xin yen! You lie!" I laughed at her reaction. I turned back to my phone and scrolled through the post and news of this year. I stopped at a picture of Chen Qian. He seemdd to be some model in the picture. He looked quite jaw dropping. I smiled. "Oooo! Is Chen Qian. your new crush?" Hua Fen teases poking my sides making me jeck and laugh. "Hey!' I called laughing. I almost bumped into someone. I froze my steps and looked up. A smile appeared on my face so naturally which shocked me. "Chen Qian!" He had a smile on his face which had a hint of excitement in them. "Xin yen!" "I'm Hua Fen, Xin yen's best friend." Hua Fen introduced, gushing. I scoffed at that. "Nice to meet you, Hua Fen." Qian greeted and turned back to me. "When do you have your first class?" "Um...by nine, I think." I said trying to remember my school timetable. "Then can we hang out later? Maybe by break?" Qian asked with a hopeful smile. I smiled back and nodded. For some reason I loved seeing that warm smile of his. "Okay, then." "Can I join?" Hua Fen asked. I rolled my eyes at that. "Why? Don't you have Xaoran to run to?" "Come on!" She pouted swinging my right hand back and forth. "No!" I objected and glared at her. Her being there wouldn't make plan work. I need him to fall for me so that I can use him. "Qing!" She begged. "Sorry, Hua Fen, I only wanna hang out with her." Qian apologized and turned to me. "I'd see you later. Zaijian!" "Zaijian." I waved and watched him walk away. I smiled at his retreatinv figure until he was out of sight. Such cute young guy. I turned to Hua Fen and she looked so heartbroken. "What?" She turned her face and walked ahead of me. She's always been so childish so I can't seem to blame her. She'd get over it anyways, like when I got married to Xaoran. I sighed and continued checking my QQ account, walking further into the school. In Commercial Class... Qian entered into the class and made his way to his desk. Hus desk was next to the window, and behind Xaoran's desk. He put Hus bag down and took out his books. He placed them on the table and took out his pen. Xaoran turned around to face Qian. "Hei! Do you like Xin yen?" Xaoran asked curiously. Qian scoffed and opened Hus textbook, flipping through it. "Weisheme?" "Do you like her? Yes or no?" Xaoran pestered. Qian sighed, then looked up at his cousin. "She's pretty." Xaoran scoffed. "Pretty? Give up on her." "I wouldn't. Why can't I have her as a friend? She's the only person who wants to be my friend without benefits." Qian groaned in frustration. "Why do you reject any friend of mine!" The whole class turned to them. The shout got everyone's attention. For the first time, the stay cousins of the school were arguing. Xaoran flared up and got up, slamming his hand on the desk. He grabbed his bag and book and stormed out of the class. Qian sighed trying to control his boiling anger. He focused on his government textbook breathing in and out slowly. Xin yen... The teacher rounded up and gave us assignment. We bowed as she left the class. Once she was gone every one went about their own business. Some chatted in the classroom while others left. I got up after putting my books in my bag. Hua Fen was sitter behind my sit with her head on the table. I sighed at that and left the classroom. I got to the garden in no time. Students hung around in pairs of two's and three's. I got to my usual bench and sat there. I took out a milk juice from my bag and pierced the straw into it. I looked around as I sucked the mil juice. I took my phone and went to my saved videos. I clicked a comedy video and began to watch it. I reduced the volume in order not to disturb others. "Hei!" A voice called. I looked up and to my surprise, I saw Xaoran smiling sweetly, walking up to me. I felt a wave of fear flow into my veins. I got really scared just staring at him. He sat next yo me making me quickly get up. I put my phone in my pocket and picked up my bag. "Are you scared?" He chuckled and winked at me. I couldn't talk nor move. I just stood there in fear. Why was he here? Why did he come to me? Would I die again? "Xaoran!" Qian's voice called. I quickly turned in his direction. He rushed up to me with a worried face then turned to Xaoran. "What did you say to her?" Xaoran scoffed and turned to me. His eyes held a hint of jealousy and cockiness. "Are you guys a thing? Am I a monster? Just two days ago you were gushing over me and now you're after my cousin? Who does that?" I sighed calming my troubled heart. "Xaoran ge, please forgive my childish act. I may have troubled you by gushing over you and following you around. Please forgive me. Duibuqi." I gave an honorific bow. I rose my head and met his eyes again. "What are you apologizing for? I never said I was angry!" Xaoran said in anger, raising his voice. "Xaoran ge, please lower your voice. This is a public place and you have a reputation to keep. Qing." I reminded in a calm voice. Xaoran boiled even more and clenched his fist. He groaned and walked away boiling like eggs. I laughed at that, cooling the tension in my chest. He was such a child. I laughed even harder forgetting Qian was right by my side. "You derive pleasure from hurting him?" Qian asked in bewilderment. I turned to him, seizing my laughter. I pressed my lip against each other and went to sit on the bench. "Not really. He scared me so I just wanna hurt him back." Qian sat next to me facing me. He loved my hair behind my ear and smiled at me. "What did he do to you that scares you?" I can't tell him that in five to six years from now Xaoran would kill me. I'd only sound crazy or he'd take it as a joke. I sighed and focused on my milk juice. "Are you free today?" Qian asked in a low voice. He kinda sounded shy. I turned to him. "Today? It's my muqin's sister's birthday. My ayi's birthday. I'd be going there after school so I'm not free." He mouthed an 'oh' and then smiled. "Can I tag along? Maybe, as your date?" A genuine smile crawled unto my face. "You wanna be my date? Sadly I can't. I'm going with my family and I'd be meeting a larger family there. You may faerl abandoned or left out." "I wouldn't." He tried to convince me but I scoffed. I can't be his babysitter there. It's not like a normal party. I shook my head. I'd have to introduce him to a lot of cousins as what? My friend? They'd think he's my boyfriend right away. "I'm really sorry, Qian. I really can't take you. But..." I paused to think for some time then I remembered. "On Friday my family and I are going to the beach. We'd spend the weekend in our beach house. You can come along then." A happy and excited smile beemed and brightened his face. "Really?" I nodded. His smile forces a smile on my face as well. Then an idea flew into my head. "And you can bring Xaoran along." His smile vanished. "Weisheme?" "I have something planned for him. Don't worry, Qian, he wouldn't bully me or scare me." I assured. "If you say so, then." Qian said and gave a small smile. Today is not a day to think of Xaoran, 'cause the demons I'm going to meet at ayi Zhen's party are worse than Xaoran. I need to braze myself. I sighed. My cousins aren't all bad but only two biao jie's are demons. I just hope I can handle them in this new life.
