The long dining table glowed softly under the golden chandelier, and the air carried the aroma of freshly roasted meat and wild herbs. The maids had done a perfect job
… the table was a masterpiece of care and order, with plates of venison, buttered potatoes, and spiced wine filling the space between us.
Lucian sat at the head of the table, smiling like the proud Alpha and head of family he was, while Elder Damian sat beside him. Serene took the seat on Lucian’s left, of course, Aldric beside her. Liora and Malakai occupied the opposite side, leaving me beside Elder Damian, where I could see everything clearly.
