Chapter 2: The Funny Fight

1027 Words
I woke up the next morning and found myself in the woods half clothed, which I wasn't supposed to be, but because I was so tired, I didn't have the energy to transform back into a human after the incident that happened with the werewolf hunter. I was still lying down in the woods and thinking of what to do next and how to actually find a place to stay when I heard footsteps approaching. I stayed quiet and used the leaves to cover myself, but when they got to where I was, they stood there for five minutes. One of them said, “I can feel her; she's here; I can feel her.” He rushed to the spot where I was hiding and told me to come out, but I pretended like I was not there. He raised the leaves and said, “You are my mate partner, and you must obey my commands.” At first, I found it funny until he started fighting with his friends, who said they wanted me too. I came out of my hiding place. There were four of them: him and three of his friends. I stood there and watched them fight each other. They looked so rough, dirty, and unkempt. While they were fighting, I tried to get away from them by tiptoeing in order for them not to notice, but my mate rushed me. He pinned me to the tree, raising both my hands above my head and to the tree. With his eyes filled with rage, he said, "You do not walk away from me; nobody walks away from me." He bit my neck. I screamed out so loudly. I had never been bitten before, and it was so painful that I scratched him so badly on his forehead, making him free me. As he was still trying to figure out his forehead, I jumped on him, but a girl came to his refuge by grabbing my neck from behind with her hair. I was breathing so fast; I thought I had been caught, but as I turned around to see who was holding me, I saw a beautiful girl like me with very long purple hair. She smiled and said, "You don't have to kill him; you're too pretty to be fighting with an idiot." She stretched out her hands, helping me to get up. I took a deep breath. She walked to him and whispered something in his ear. He looked at me and left with his friends. “Thank you for coming to my rescue," I said. “My name is Niamon, and I haven't seen your face before. "Are you new to town?" she asked. “Yes, I came into this town yesterday, and I have experienced the most terrible things that anyone who has stayed here for a year has ever experienced,"we laughed. After narrating my terrible experience to her, she offered to help me figure myself out. I did not remember where I left my bag, but I was so surprised that she showed me where my bag was and said, “I'm used to coming out at night and spending time with myself on this road. I saw you last night when you were dealing with the cab driver. "I knew I was going to see you again; that's why I decided to keep it for you." She handed me the bag. I was shocked. I didn't know what to say. I just stood there looking at her for over three minutes till she tapped me. “Oh, I'm sorry; I was just shocked that someone actually saw me being a horrible person, and thank you very much for the bag. I was really thinking of how to find it, and you made it so easy for me”. I carried my bag on my shoulder, and we walked down the road as she told me everything about the city. “My city, Eldrida, is filled with werewolves and vampires, but you cannot differentiate between us and humans because we all look the same. Humans, vampires, and werewolves die every month, and there's nothing the king does about it because he's the person that kills them. We have tried to fight him and bring him down, but he's very powerful, and the only person that can defeat him is someone as powerful as he is and as old as him. Once you come into this city, you can never go back; you either live here or die here, and this is because he puts a spell on the boundary between Eldrida and the outside world. For you to move out of this city again, he must grant you permission, and without permission, you can not cross the gate. With everything happening in Eldrida, humans are after werewolves due to the fact they see us in different forms at night. They don't believe that vampires hunt them; they only believe that vampires are just creatures that have weird teeth and disappear whenever they want. Because vampires know how to switch up so fast, they hardly get caught hunting for human blood. That was the reason you experienced the werewolf hunter that wanted to slaughter you. In this town, we werewolves avoid vampires because they make humans believe that we're their enemies, while they are the actual enemies. The things that happen in this town are not for the weak. It's been 21 years since the king has been in that seat and refused to step down. He killed everyone that came his way. He also killed his wife because she couldn't handle how evil he had become. All he does is have people serve him and retain his strength every month by using human, werewolf, and vampire blood. He doesn't care about people; he forces himself on women and kills any of the husbands that confront him. It keeps getting worse every day in this town, and the only way to survive is to keep living by the rules. Welcome to the most terrible town, where there's no way out, and the only way out is to die.
