16- Blinding Anger

2695 Words
Caius, Marcus and Aro marched through the trees in Brazil, excitement in their minds at the prosperity at seeing their sunshine, Attarah. Time apart from her had only made them upset and angered. They felt a hole in their hearts, though none more than Aro, who was still yet to redeem himself. Unfortunately, at the door, they were not met by a bubbling ray of sunshine as expected. They were met by a sheepish looking Felix and Miranda who's heartbeat at millions of miles a minute....if that were possible. The King's stopped and they stared and frowned. Though neither spoke a word. "What happened?" Aro questioned out of worry though neither answered and it caused him to get angered, grabbing Miranda by the throat and holding her in the air as she choked, repeating himself. "How is it you expect her to answer when the poor woman cannot breathe?" a voice questioned from their left and they turn to see Attarah, appearing as though she was having the holiday of her life. She was tanned to perfection, dressed beautifully in denim dungarees and white daps.  "Attarah dear. We were so worried" Caius gushed though her face remained stony as she watched Aro release Miranda nervously. The future queen rushed to the female. Scrutinising her condition before hushing out some words "George." Instantly a vampire was at her side. A newly turned vampire who'd been left in Brazil with Felix for training.  "Oh, my love" he released thickly as he took Miranda in his arms, cradling her as though she were glass. It seemed that to him, she was as precious as it. "wha-" Marcus began to question as he witnessed bonds that had not existed before they departed. Felix was closer to Attarah, in a brotherly way, the same as the new vampire George. Speaking of, George had an unbreakable bond of love with Miranda and she'd evolved to have a brotherly, teasing friendship with Felix. It startled Marcus with the change. Though what we feared the most was the bonds between them. Attarah's bond with Aro had gone from once vibrant rose gold to silver. It had faded and the same had occurred with Marcus and Caius though a once rosy gold was now a much plainer gold. Something about the colour change appeared to Marcus as temporary. As Attarah looked into Aros's eyes the bond warmed but as she looked away she appeared to compose herself. Allowing it to fade once more. "What has happened my dear?" Marcus tried again, this time not startled to silence. "You lied... All three of you lied." she seethed and they all frowned collectively though Aro was the first to catch on to the reason behind her very apparent anger. "You know" he announced and she looked at him with a royally pissed off expression. "Hmm, aren't you smart." she groaned "I'm surprised it took you so long to realise unless there's something else you are keeping from me" she snapped before sighing, in an attempt to calm herself. "not that it matters, nothing you say can change the fact that you waged war against my family!" "Attarah please calm down" "No Marcus! My anger is warranted. Nothing you can say is going to calm me. I do not care what my sister did, she sent me away, she created an immortal child... Nothing she did can allow you to keep a secret this big from me and then leave to kill her." she had tears in her eyes, either from anger or upset, maybe even fear. Whatever it was, her emotions were at an all-time high. " She's alive Attarah" Aro attempted "They all are." "I know, imagine my reaction if she wasn't," she whispered out and walked off into the house. At that stage, the Kings knew that they had truly messed up. Whatever they had expected, it hadn't been such anger that she seemed to hate them. They thought their bond was stronger than that pain and upset but their mate was a little firecracker and she wasn't letting go of her anger that easily.  --- The three King's sat around in silence in the sitting room of the Brazilian villa, unsure what to say or do. Attarah had vanished shortly after revealing that she knew the secrets and had allegedly left the premises along with a few guards as a precaution. "You knew this would happen. You cannot act this surprised." Aro informed. He sat almost uncaring upon the sofa staring off into the air as he contemplated. "Why are you not more concerned about this?" Caius demanded in anger. He had not expected so much anger to come from his mate though he alternatively knew she would not be happy. "Attarah was already as angry with me as she possibly could get. The two of you have merely joined me in the bad books." he shrugged. "Considering you have been in the bad books longer brother, have you concocted any plan to get yourself out of them?" Marcus joined the discussion. "I have." he smiled. "do nothing" he informed and his brothers stared at him. "She needs space. Stifling her and bombarding her with gifts and love will just make her angry and upset. She just wants time to let off steam. No matter how much we miss her. We must wait for her to come to us." Aro decided. "That is a very un- Aro thing to say" Felix informed as he sat down. For once the King's did not have a go at him. They said nothing in fact. "Attarah doesn't want you to leave her alone. She wants to prove to you that she is a strong, independent person who deserves involvement in the Volturi." "she's a human." "She is. But she is also your mate. She was biologically created to be the love of your lives. The world would not create a woman for you who could not put up with the stress of the Volturi." "give her time." Aro enforced again and went to leave. "Good luck with that. I believe you have given her the ability to act out. It was long-awaited but I want to see what she will do." Felix smirked. "She won't act out Felix. She is not a child. She is an adult." "Hmm, well." Alec chuckled. "she came here as a child and you changed her. She didn't have time to party and do what she wanted with the bottomless Volturi bank accounts. I'm excited to see how she will act." "You are ridiculous Alec." "I don't think I am. You were all too busy arguing that you didn't notice her sneaking off to a bar with Jane and the other women. I wonder what she does with that freedom. She can do whatever you wants to do now and she will, to get back at you." "if she wants us to treat her like an adult, she won't act like a child," Marcus argued. "Attarah is good at getting what she wants without noticing she's doing it. She abides by what people tell her. She is happy all the time as you are miserable. She is biologically made to suit the purpose as mate of the three most controlling men amongst the vampire community so she will be the way you treat her. If you treat her as a child, she will act like one. " Felix informed logically. " Treat her the way you have to treat her to show your love for her. She deserves that and more" Alec spoke. "She gave up everything to be here. She might not be a vampire yet but she's the strongest human I know, being the mate of you three surely isn't the easiest task." Alec cut in. "No offence masters" he added cautiously. --- Attarah wandered through the door of the island villa and headed straight for the stairs, a night of dancing in the streets with the other Volturi's had truly tired her out. Though many of them still remained their, basking in the joy of being away from the Kings and free to act how they pleased. Jane had brought her home, presumably with the plan to return to the streets when she was safely in the confinement of the house. She walked up the stairs in the darkness, too tired to fumble for a light switch and entered her bedroom, flopping down on the freshly made sheets and falling asleep, her shoes still on and her body lying across the bed, her legs hanging off. - The dawn broke along the horizon, filling the sky with oranges and yellows and Attarah woke up, her eyes slightly peeling back, she opened them fully to find herself tucked under the covers, she was cuddled up in the warmth, her shoes off. When she finally came to her senses, she realised that she hadn't fallen asleep like that. She groaned when she noticed that the King's must've moved her, she wanted to just have her time without their interference, they'd angered her massively. She wanted freedom. She'd never had it before. She missed the feel of being alone. Wandering out of bed, she headed to the bathroom with a fresh set of clothes. A scowl on her face. When she finally exited the bathroom once more, she was dressed in a long-sleeved white top with parts cut out of the sleeves, white shorts with multi-coloured leaves and a thick brown belt. On her feet, she slipped on brown shoes and rammed a white hat on her dark curls before walking out of the room. She knew it was the end of their holiday now and I made her quite sad.  "Attarah" she turned and saw the three King's following her. After a second to ponder she raised her eyebrow and turned away. "no" she walked off.  "This is our job Attarah!" Caius demanded, he felt as though he hadn't seen her in months and his heart ached with longing. "It's your job to kill my sister?" "it's our job to enforce the rules Attarah! And you know that. You signed up for this" "I signed up for nothing, I was brought here by you and all I have done this entire time is blindly follow what you've told me to do. I never signed up for anything, I never agreed to slaughter my own family. So don't you dare make it out as if I did. It hurts that you didn't tell me what you planned to do. Especially when you knew how much it affected me." "Attarah please" Marcus took a much softer approach. "Please what? What could you possibly say to make this better?" she whispered but they clearly heard. "Please don't be mad at us for being the creatures that we are. This is our nature." "I know. And I guess I'm going to have to accept that, but I'm not ready, not yet. I would like to go home today, I've had enough of this island." she forced out and they nodded. They recognised that they'd made progress and it lightened their hearts yet she was still a million miles away from trusting them, specially Aro. But he knew. "Mistress Attarah" Miranda called from the kitchen behind her and the human instantly followed the voice, leaving the King's to dwell in their own excitement.  --- Attarah walked ahead of the kings out of the villa as she headed toward the cars that were lined up in the gravel outside the house. The entire of the Volturi guard had somehow congregated at the mansion throughout the past weeks and now they were all leaving. All three King's entered a car and Attarah frowned before entering a different one, finding Miranda, her mate George, Jane and Felix within. "I'm sure you are supposed to be riding with the King's," Felix informed as he started the car up, heading off the driveway. He and Jane were in the front. "Yeah well I am sure they'll survive" she forced out and George chuckled, lopping an arm over her shoulder. "You, mistress Attarah, are going to make an absolutely amazing queen."  "I hope so." she smiled. "you will" Jane smiled. "You change the King's. Make them better." Just then, Jane's phone rang and she rolled her eyes before answering. "Hello your majesty," she spoke. There was a pause. "Yes, she is here," Jane replied. "She's fine." Just then she took her phone away from her ear and turned to Attarah. "He wants to talk to you," she spoke quietly. Attarah shook her head. "I'm sorry, she is asleep" she made up, however, the King's knew for certain that she was awake. Eventually, the call ended and Attarah rolled her eyes before leaning further back in her seat and closing her eyes. Officially falling asleep like the lie Jane had told. When Attarah woke up, it was to find that the sleek vehicle was pulling to a halt on gravelled ground. Before them stood a giant jet, much larger than the one they had arrived within, intended to return home the many many guard members that had congregated in the past month. Multiple cars pulled to a stop in the garage to the right, presumably owned by the Volturi. In all crevices of the garage, members of the Volturi were exiting vehicles with luggage and heading to the jet and glittering like disco balls under the brilliant light. Once again, Attarah succeeded in avoiding her handsome men. And once upon the plain, luck prevailed once more as she took a seat behind them rather than beside them in the many rows. "Attarah" Marcus began again. "Do everyone a favour and stop talking, this flight is going to be long enough without everyone bickering." she cut him off instantly and glanced out her window as he turned back to face the front. In the time he did this, she leant toward the window and gazed out upon the beautiful paradise before they began to take off, returning them all to the cold castle once more. _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ Attarah ran for her life, she knew someone followed her but she didn't have the ability to stop and see who. All she knew was that danger lurked. Though they were faster and soon flashes of blonde hair streaked around her before a brunette joined the mix, swishing in front of her in high, malicious laughter and she held herself, now stopping her pace though her heart still raced. "Athendora, you know what Caius always said. We mustn't play with our food. It takes away the edge" a readying female voice boomed. "Oh Sulpicia, your dearest Aro would not be impressed, you seem to be losing your touch" another returned. "By the looks of this human, he already has" she countered in a cackle. "Oh Attarah, this won't hurt" red eyes in the distance promised. "No, it'll be absolutely excruciating. And so it better." a giggle radiated and two pairs of daggers shredded through her velvet skin, drawing her blood and leaving her veins sandy. Attarah awoke in cold sweats, fear in her eyes, the dream had been so vivid and her imagination did not have the ability to produce such torture. She was innocent. "It's okay Tara, you are okay" a voice soothed him "Nothing can hurt you" it promised and she recognised the scent of George, Miranda's mate. Relief flooded through her at the familiarity and she relaxed into his arms. Soon a plastic cup was pressed to her lips "Drink" she sipped the water and she glanced around the plane that now flew through the night sky. Many guards sat stony, unaware of our passing by. "It felt so real." "You're safe now Atty, no one can get you here." A voice from behind promised and she noticed Felix leaning over the seat. "Everything's okay" he informed and she relaxed even further. "I'm okay" she replied, her voice ringing in her ears as she felt a desire to be held by three men only, three men who had conveniently been absent from her terror...
