Attarah woke up to somebody shaking her, she glanced around through a foggy glare of sleep to find blurred and distorted shapes hanging around her in darkened clothing, finally, she adjusted and recognized Marcus to her side, his cool arms around her, flattening her hair she coughed and stood awkwardly as the guards watched with smirks from all sides.
"What?" She asked sleepily and Marcus smiled gently before standing beside her and taking her hand, leading her through the plane, cautious of her walking as she was wobbly on her legs. Alec pushed the jet door open and hopped out effortlessly, they'd landed on a private runway and Marcus hopped down next, using vampire strength rather than setting out the steps to get out.
"You're next Attarah" Felix smiled and took her around the waist gently, she gasped in shock and he smiled "Marcus will catch you" he promised before throwing her out the plane door. Clamping her teeth together to stop the scream that threatened to escape, she felt stone arms catch her, winding her and definitely causing bruises.
"Are you okay Love?" A voice whispered in her ear and she instinctively sighed, cuddling into the sparks as she was placed to her feet, the fall having awoken her entirely.
"Just a bit winded" she giggled happily as she realised the rain hammering on her head from the heavens above, she giggled as the rain hit her face, reminding her so much of Forks.
"You'll catch hypothermia princess" Felix smirked at her and she glared playfully as he boomed an Emmett worthy laugh and pulled her hood up onto her hair.
"I need to grab the luggage, get her to the place before she gets cold" Marcus ordered though it was more of a request as he wondered off with Alec and Demetri in tow.
"Hop on kid" the muscly vampire guard smirked and leant down, her personal guards who she'd gotten used to hadn't come with them.
Attarah stood for a few moments, not realizing that he was serious until he looked back with a stern expression, she sighed and grabbed his shoulders jumping as he caught her knees, securing her into place before running through the trees that just so happened to rim the landing pad.
Reminiscent in the cool breeze surrounding her Attarah kept her eyes wide open as she assessed the trees whizzing past, Felix seemed slightly surprised when he noticed her content as she assessed her expression.
"Where am I staying with Marcus?" She questioned as they stopped and she looked around to see a beautiful clearing, in the centre, was a giant tent pitched perfectly, the rain had stopped and the clearing was dry, how far had they travelled from the plane? "Felix?" She asked and glanced around nervously, spotting him nowhere.
Realising that she had been left all alone, Attarah stepped toward the tent nervously, pulling the canvas door open to reveal a large circular inside with a wooden floor and a thick bed on the floor, covered in intricate blankets and embroidered cushions.
Stepping inside as the wind picked up, Attarah could easily stand and make her way to the bed, glancing around her before taking a seat on the plush covers and kicking off her shoes, swinging her legs in front of her as she shivered from the cold, her ribs feeling bruised from the fall still.
"Attarah?" A beautiful voice asked and she smiled unconsciously as she turned to see Marcus sat behind her on the bed, he reached across and pulled her into his lap. "Do you like it?"
"It's beautiful" she replied and he smiled gently.
"Tomorrow we are heading to a hotel because there isn't anything out here" he informed and she nodded gently, shifting to lie down with her head in his lap.
"I feel I don't know you very well" she spoke gently and he smiled softly as he stroked her curls softly through his fingers.
"What do you want to know?" He questioned. The pair of them sat together for hours talking, laughing and getting to know one another in ways they never knew. Attarah learnt all there was to know about Didyme and Marcus learnt all about Renee and 'grandma Swan' and they both accepted all they heard.
"Are you hungry Tara?" Marcus asked casually as night began to fall, she was lounging on the bed with his phone watching a random movie he'd selected, it was evident from the scene that they had relaxed in one another's company.
"Just a bit" she informed as she paused the film and handed him his iPhone. Marcus smiled and tossed the phone to the side, reaching into a distant corner and removing an ice box, opening it to reveal an array of foods.
"What do you want to eat love?" He queried and she crawled toward him, sitting to his side and shrugging, he chuckled and took out a box which had cold pizza inside, he rose an eyebrow and she nodded with a smile and a giggle.
"Perfect" she giggled again and he passed it to her, pushing the box away and swinging his legs back so they both sat side by side on the bed. "It's so nice to get away" she informed as she pulled the lid off the box.
"Do you miss them?" Marcus asked casually, leaning back onto the cushions and unlocking his phone, pulling up his messages.
"Not yet" she smiled with a gentle smiled, soothing circles onto his chest before rolling away and beginning to eat.
"By the looks of it they miss you" Marcus winked and she frowned, leaning over as he turned his phone to her, on the phone was a text from Aro, it was frantic yet formal, insisting to know of her safety.
"Whoa" she sighed as she finished the first bit of pizza, only being a small piece.
"Whoa indeed" he smirked.
---
Attarah was awoken by a cold rocking through her body, reaching her core, jolting forward she sat, shivering violently, her lips quivering and tears threatening to tumble from her orbs.
"Tara? hey, shshsh" she heard a voice attempting to soothe her and she turned to see Demetri in the tent, flapping frantically attempting to calm his human queen, she still continued to shiver and the breeze erupting from his motions weren't helping the situation.
"Seriously Dem?" Alec scoffed as he entered also, watching the smaller guard failing relentlessly. Alec waltzed over to the future queen and quickly wrapped his jacket around her shoulders to warm her slightly, the tent door had been opened when Demetri entered and Marcus exited and some i***t (Demetri) forgot to close it again, forcing the brunette awake.
"Where's Marcus?" She queried, she could see that the sky was still plunged in darkness though she was calmer now that she wasn't alone.
"He's on the phone with Caius" Alec informed as he lay back on the bed gently, making himself at home as she rolled her eyes. Sliding to the edge of the bed, Attarah slammed her shoes onto her feet once more and stood, throwing Alec his jacket and replacing it with Marcus', her arms sliding into the long sleeves.
"Where are you going princess?" Felix queried as she exited the tent, the giant vampire had been standing by the door and she walked straight into him.
"I'm finding Marcus" she informed and began to walk away, her shoes crunching on the leaves, Felix rolled his eyes, grabbing her shoulders and turning her around, gently pushing her in the correct direction.
Attarah didn't react in any way, still sleepy and overly sleep-deprived as she made her way into the treeline, into the darkness, after wandering aimlessly through the darkness for an immeasurable moment, Attarah broke free into a second smaller clearing, spotting Marcus positioned opposite, hastily chatting away in Italian to his brother.
"Marcus?" The king turned around and spotted her though he'd heard her heartbeat the entire time she trekked the woods.
"One moment Caius" the man switched to English, there was no reason to speak in Italian, they had nothing to hide within the conversation from their American mate. "Attarah my dear, I thought you were sleeping"
"I woke up and you weren't there."
"I'm here now" he smiled gently and stroked her cheek, pulling her softly into his embrace, she rested her face against his chest as he returned to his phone call and she merely listened to his breathing.
"Caius wants to talk to you" Marcus informed a few moments later and she glanced up warily, still being unforgiving to the blond king.
"Okay," she whispered softly and accepted the phone, placing it against her ear and waiting for him to say something.
"Attarah love?" His voice crackled through the speaker yet somehow sounded as smooth as honey in the way only his voice could. Aro was posher, more clipped yet gentle whereas Marcus was rougher, almost like velvet. "Attarah?" She'd dazed off.
"Yes?" She finally replied and heard an audible sigh of relief from the opposite end of the receiver, Marcus took a few needed steps away to rest against a tree and attempt to not pry into their conversation.
"Oh thank God, I'm so sorry Attarah, I didn't mean to upset you" he gushed out and was shocked when he was stopped.
"You didn't upset me...you scared me. You showed me what I had to be, what you wanted me to be and I was terrified because I can't be that person, I've never done any of the things you may think I've done" she rushed out, attempting to find the least embarrassing route.
At that point Attarah, as well as Marcus himself realized that Marcus was unconsciously listening to the conversation though she didn't seem to mind, he needed to hear this all too.
"Attarah, Aro is here also" Caius warned, attempting to stop her from saying anything she'd regret.
"No you all need to hear this" she finalized, staring at Marcus with half tired eyes. "I've never had a boyfriend, I've never kissed a boy and I definitely haven't done anything else either" she demanded and they were all slightly shocked. Females from her generation tended to experiment and overstep boundaries, fifteen-year-olds being in relationships that were deemed to last forever. "I know that it's irritating and you want more but please...start slow" she begged and Marcus nodded from his location with a warm smile.
"I truly am sorry Attarah" Caius begged one final time.
"I know." Was her clipped response as she handed Marcus the phone once more. Said vampire mate quickly wrapped up the conversation and took her hands within his large ones, guiding her through the tree to the tent once more.
"Sleep again my darling, we leave for the hotel in the morning" Marcus hushed, it was still early morning and Attarah was evidently still jet-lagged from her flight across Europe.
"Okay," she croaked out and allowed him to lift her up, carrying her to the now vacant tent and placing her on the bed.
The last thing Attarah was consciously aware of was Marcus removing her shoes and swivelling her into a better location on the bed.
"Goodnight my princess" a ghost of a voice whispered and cold lips sealed a kiss upon her flesh.
---
Marcus opened the boot, sliding a suitcase inside before slamming it shut with force though the green-eyed beauty that gazed on from the lakeside had little clue as to the effort the king put into not crushing the metal between his stern grip.
"Come along little one" Felix smirked as he appeared behind the small brunette. Suddenly the large male frowned out if nowhere and stared at her.
"What?" She queried, worried as if she had a hair distinctively out of place or dirt on her fave that she did not know of.
"You didn't jump" he accused loudly and she stares at him as though he'd grown an extra head.
"Sorry?"
"You should be! Every time I come up to you, you jump...why not now?" He accused once more and she frowned even deeper as Marcus turned to watch with an amused expression.
"I guess I got used to it" she shrugged, proud of herself for not being afraid as the man suddenly popped up.
"No you can't get used to it...that's wrong! You're supposed to jump" he fumed as he puffed air from his lips.
"I sincerely apologize" she mocked and he turned away with an unsatisfied smirk as Alec and Demetri tumbled into a random bound of hysteric laughter.
"Come on you lot" Marcus scoffed, his carefree relaxed nature perfectly intact.
Attarah was the first to move, cautiously aware of Felix's gaze on her as she walked to her mate, arms circling his waist before she pecked a kiss to his jawline before walking to the Audi that was parked on the treeline.
"Come on then" Attarah giggled as she shut her door, having shotgun the front seat. The other three guards sighed and slid into the backseats, elbowing one another for more room that was impossible to gain.
Marcus closed the door for his own seat and twisted the key and heard the engine start though as he began to drive he glanced back and burst out laughing.
Startled by Marcus' sudden energy, Attarah turned to find the source and was shocked to see the guards struggling, shrugging and complaining in a silent fashion.
"They are like children" she whispered to Marcus and he turned to her with a smirk as he shifted lanes.
"You do know they can hear you?" He chuckled, imitating her by copying her whispering fashion though the car had fallen silent.
"You do know I don't care?" She smirked playfully before turning back to the window as the smile fell into a flat line. Her mind was suddenly flooded with images of Bella smirking hysterically with her mate's bodies disposed in fire behind her.
Attarah closed her eyes and sighed, releasing breath outwards as screams penetrated her thoughts...screams she recognized though had never heard.
"Attarah?" A hand shook her violently and she looked up into Marcus' eyes that had been covered by brown contacts.
"Sorry, I was a bit tired" she lied and faked a yawn, shocked when it sounded real and Marcus bought it, his gaze loosened and a smile spread quickly as she planted one on her own face...though, gazing into her eyes, a hollow glint shone.
Glancing around her, Attarah finally came to the realization that the guards had vanished, presumably to hunt as their eyes were darkening and Marcus had hunted the previous night.
"We are staying here" Marcus smiled gently at his adorable queen who assessed the world with a caring gaze.
"It's beautiful" she spoken in awe, glancing up at the tall hotel above her, for the first time seeing the true beauty of England.
"Come love" he ushered gently and stood from the car, tossing the keys to a jittery male who stated at the beautiful man with wide eyes, assessing Marcus as he casually walked around the vehicle and opened the passenger door to reveal a female goddess beauty, they were a match made by Cupid himself.
"This should be interesting" she mumbled as they entered, aware of a bell boy rushing to collect the luggage. Within the reception, a blond woman could be seen touching up her face in a hand mirror, attempting to be discreet as colleagues rushed around her.
"Excuse me" Marcus greeted and the women look up sharply to the man with the compelling voice, her eyes widening as lust filmed along her iris'.
"How may I help you, Sir?" She questioned flirtatiously, not having seen the small figure clasping the gentlemen's arm. Leaning onto the counter, the lady bit her lip and attempted to appear sultry.
"We have a room booked under the name Volturi." The king demanded, emphasis on the word we. The lady suddenly glanced at Attarah, a beautiful young woman who assessed the blonde with anger blazing in her eyes.
"Right, here" the lady practically threw them the key and welcome package, attempting to rid of them at the closest time.
"Thank you" Marcus smirked and the lady was dazzled as they walked away and up the marble stairwell, the bellboys having vanished in the direction prior to them.
"Jeez" Attarah stressed and Marcus chuckled, pulling her into his side and pressing a kiss to her forehead as they walked along perfectly cleaned corridors and up many stairs to the hotel room.
"Here we are" he smiled softly as he took the key from his pocket, they had reached the penthouse apartment and the bags were placed beside the doors with the boys out of sight as Marcus opened the door to reveal an exquisite apartment, bigger than Attarahs former home.
"Only the best for you, my love"
--
Attarah waltzed around the hotel apartment in boredom, she'd slept the previous night and woke to find Marcus absent so now she randomly walked circles around the room in one of his shirts, inhaling the scent and waiting for her love to return.
"Attarah my love?" She heard a voice call and she walked out of the kitchen area to the main entrance where she found her beloved king sopping wet from head to toe and carrying three bags between his fingers.
"Marcus!" She giggled and ran to him, the man placed the bags onto the floor and grabbed her, her legs wrapping around his middle before she shivered "you're freezing" she informed and slid to the floor shaking and now wet also.
"Sorry, my dear" he mumbled and turned, taking his hoodie off the side and passing it to her to wear.
"What did you get?" She questioned as she assessed the bags that he had now picked up once more. The pair moving back to the kitchen counters.
"Now that's a secret, my love, first let's get you breakfast" he smiled softly and removed his wet coat, pushing his silky hair back and opening the fridge to assess the situation.
Giggling playfully to herself, Attarah rounded the counter and wrapped her arms around him from behind, glad that he was no longer wet due to the removal of his coat.
"What are you doing?" He chuckled as he glanced back at the small figure hugging his waist.
"Cuddle" she smiled adorably and his face flattened in awe as he whipped around and lifted her below the shoulders like a child, placing her on the counter with his hands on either side of her legs.
"You're too beautiful for your own good" he mumbled and slammed his body closer to hers, capturing her lips and kissing passionately, her fingers scraping through his hair as his hands trailed along her sides to grab her butt in his soft caress.
Attarah gasped into Marcus and he knew that she'd reached a barrier as he slowed his kisses and trailed his hands back to her face to gently caress her flesh before drawing to a halt and pulling back with a smile.
"I'm sorry" she mumbled at pausing the love short and he shook his head gently.
"It is all okay my dear, you did nothing wrong" he promised and kissed her forehead before turning back around to cook for her once more.
"Eat up my love" he smiled and she glanced up, shocked to see that he had finished and she had blanked out for a few minutes.
"Thank you" she smiled softly and picked up the cutlery, aware that Marcus was watching her. The king felt it was his duty to keep her happy and healthy and he was not going to let something such as lack of food get in the way of that.
"What do we have planned for today?" She questioned, silently hoping for another free day where she could relish in his company and cuddle him to her heart's content.
And as if he were reading her mind, Marcus replied...
"We don't have anything planned until this evening, is that okay?" He questioned worriedly.
"That's perfect" she smiled and placed the cutlery on the plate that was now near empty. Satisfied with the amount she'd eaten, Marcus smiled.
Attarah sat for a few moments, contemplating, her mind whirring before she finally decided what she wanted as she turned to him.
"I'm going for a shower" she hopped up and he nodded as he placed the plates in the sink though upon noticing that she hadn't moved, he frowned softly.
"...join me?" She asked nervously and his eyebrows rose though he detected nothing but slight excitement in her eyes, she truly wanted this.
"Are you sure my dear?" He queried and she nodded softly as she walked forward, taking his hand and dragging him through the hotel room to the bathroom.
"Just tell me if it gets too much" he informed with happiness in his eyes that she was opening her vulnerability to him.
"Of course" she smiled as she locked the door, checking for the sufficient amount of towels beforehand.
"I'll sort this out" he gestured to the large shower as he switched the dials, vaguely aware of her shuffling beside him giddily.
"That should be okay" he stated as he pulled his shirt off and kicked off his shoes. Attarah smiled softly as she watched him, her mate. "Come along love" he chuckled as he gently touched the shirt she wore and she nodded as she unbuttoned it, closing her eyes as she allowed it to fall.
After a moment if silence, Attarah began to get worried and peeled her eyes open nervously to see Marcus frozen in place with lust-filled eyes, he gulped and she sighed.
"You are gorgeous" he gasped out as he heard her breath, he also allowed his final clothing to fall and she was captured into desire also as they entered the shower together allowing the water to flow over them.
As Attarah assessed her godlike mate, she found nothing but happiness within her, she felt comfortable before his eyes and he couldn't feel anything but happiness upon seeing her absolute gorgeousness.
"I brought you a present" he informed as they both exited the shower, wrapping themselves in fluffy bath towels.
"Ooh, what is it?" She queried excitedly, the pair entering the bedroom where Attarah quickly threw on one of her baggy shirts, a pair of black hot pants and Marcus' hoodie that covered the lot.
"Nu-uh, you'll have to wait and see" he winked as he brushed his fingers through his long wet locks. Pouting, Attarah sat on the bed with an audible 'humpf' sound as Marcus roared with unnecessary laugher at her facial expression.
"Can I have it now?" She asked five seconds later and Marcus rolled his eyes, knowing he was in for that question repeated throughout the day.
---
"Attarah" she turned around and spotted her lover behind her dressed in warm night clothing with his usual straight brown hair mused into slight curls. Smirking happily, the small brunette barreled toward him and hopped upwards, her legs latching tightly around his torso as his palms secured around her knees.
"Hello" she giggled cheekily and kissed his cheek, a gentle peck that gave him tingles along his cheekbones and chills along his ice-cold flesh.
"Present time" he informed and she giggled though slid to her feet to glance up at him in excitement, effortlessly locking fingers as they travelled through the hotel room to the bedroom where a large white paper bag could be seen.
"Can I see it?" She asked as they sat on the bed beside it. Marcus leant over and brushed back a stray curl before nodding and allowing her to open the bag.
"I hope you like it" he spoke with nervousness and she frowned at his concern before breaking out in a large smile.
"It's a box" she frowned at the plain heavy box before opening it to reveal a flashy iPad of the newest design.
"I set it up for you" he promised as he assessed her reaction, "I thought that considering you'll be away from your mates, me included, at times, I'd give you a source of communication." His nervousness only rose.
"I love it" she informed and looked at with teary eyes before blushing at her own reaction. She was overwhelmed by her love for the gentlemen and how her life had shifted. Before she barely afforded the considered high-end clothing she wore, then when she met the Cullens, Rosalie paid for amazing outfits but now; she had wherever she wanted along with things she'd never even imagined having, the second she thought of it and three gentlemen to love her unconditionally.
"Thank you" she adored his love for her and loved him equally. Kissing him passionately before fixing her...his shirt and turning back to the device in hand. "Can we call them now?" She asked excitably and he was in no way prepared to tarnish that as he gave her a gentle nod.
"Here" he takes it softly from her hands and tapped a few buttons as she twisted to sit beneath the covers. The iPad played a tune and Marcus smirked as Attarah jumped before she twisted to sit beside her.
"Hello brother" a voice spoke, only seeing the tousled Marcus on the screen... The voice was Aro and Attarah lit up at the sound.
"Hello, how are you and Caius?" The brunette king stuck to English for Attarahs benefit and Aro frowned at the concept but replied nonetheless.
"We are well, thank you" he replied as Caius popped on the screen behind the dark-haired king.
"Can I see?" Attarah questioned as she looked at the iPad in Marcus' hands with longing, knowing her loves were on the opposite side.
"Is that Attarah?" Caius questioned giddily as Marcus smiled and handed the iPad over. A rustle and a giggle later, a beautiful brunette held the camera and beamed at the sight of her men smiling happily.
"hi" she giggled out in happiness as she assessed them, they both appeared well kept and happy though their eyes were a darker red than she was used to seeing and they seemed sad, hollow.
By looking at them, Attarah felt a longing twist in the pit of her stomach as though she was becoming ill and she suddenly hunched and gasped as her heart tugged.
"Are you okay my love?" Marcus asked in fear as he grabbed her, his hand pressing to her chest in an almost attempt to hold her heart in place.
"What is happening to me?" she queried in fear. The feeling seemed to sway in confusion and she felt a swirl of nausea before darkness swelled across her vision and she buckled to the side in unconsciousness.
"Attarah!"
"princess"
"wake up darling"
____
Brightness cracked through the space between her eyelids as Attarah forced them to open. After a moment of blinding pain, she focused her sights and glanced up to see Marcus Sat on the edge of the bed, his head in his right hand and his left balanced on his knee which bounced rhythmically.
"Marcus" she hiccuped through a dry throat that felt like sandpaper as he jolted to turn to her.
"my love" he gasped with tears building in his eyes that would never fall. He grabbed her hand somewhat delicately as fear shone through him, he was like a child in fear.
"what's wrong?" she asked him as she pushed herself up, rather than answering Marcus began to sob in a way she'd never seen before and she rushed to grab him in a hug, her eyes wide.
"Please stop crying. You're okay, I'm here" she promised as she identified her fainting spell as his source of fear.
"I was so worried" he gasped as he calmed and grabbed her in return, he wouldn't stand to see her in the pain she was in and he was determined to protect her from harm... No matter what he had to do to achieve this.
----
Aro sat upon his throne in a dazed boredom, though his countenance remained firmly stiff and stern as his crimson gaze trailed the architecture he called home. The door to his right crashed open and he twisted hastily to see his brother slouching into the throne with a brooding stare.
"what seems to be troubling you dear brother?" Aro queried as he also frowned in turn. Leaning across the space between them, Caius placed his hand upon his brothers and Aro was tugged into crystal clear memories of Attarah tumbling around the blonds mind." you miss her"
"evidently" he snapped and glared at the empty space around him, the only occupant being Jane who made haste to exit.
"calm yourself dear brother, Marcus has gifted her with technology and she is to be phoning us shortly." Aro informed as he leant over and picked up a shiny iPad that was by his feet. Turning it over in his slim fingers, the raven haired male took in every detail of the contraption.
Glancing over at his brother, Caius scoffed and rolled his eyes at Aros clear fascination with the latest device. When the machine started to ring, both brothers froze and Aro widened his eyes and pressed the button carefully.
When a message appeared that Marcus was calling him, Aro swiftly poked the green button with his index finger and held the large device to his ear as Caius burst out laughing and repositioned it on Aros lap.
Some time later, when Caius had moved to stand behind Aro, Attarah appeared on screen as beautiful as ever but as they watched her; they noticed she wore Marcus' shirt and her hair was mused.
Neither man wished to make assumptions though guilt bubbled within them at the sight of Marcus and Attarah in close contact. Little time did they have to dwell however as suddenly Attarah began to grasp and grab her chest, nails digging into flesh.
The longer her evident panic attack continued, the more Caius and Aro panicked along with her, so much so that they started to scream and shout her name when the iPad finally turned dark and the sound cut off.
"no!" Aro demanded as he began to press buttons frantically. Caius watched either wide eyes as Aro slammed his hand straight through the delicate device, the contraption proceeding to sizzle slightly.
"... Aro..." Caius warned and the aforementioned male seemed to finally work out what it was that he had done as his eyes widened and he dropped the broken contraption on the stone where it shattered further.
No longer having patience, Aro stormed out of the room and Caius growled angrily as the shock wore off, he grabbed the shattered device and threw it at the wall where it made a large noise and crumbled to the floor in multiple pieces.
Next, Caius moved through the rooms of the castle, grabbing various implements and smashing them, leaving a tornado of mess for the servants to clear.
"calm yourself Caius" Aro warned as he reentered the room and stared at the mess made.
"says you" scoffed the hot-headed blond. Both Caius and Aro were the same when it came to emotions, both sadness, longing and loneliness along with embarrassment were harnessed into anger.
"I have to admit, I did overreact. Since then, Marcus has been in contact and it appears Attarah is feeling much better though he is going to take things steady and return in two days as planned."
The kings were shocked by the intensity of their reactions to the situation and it was safe to say they had finally established their immense love for Attarah Swan.
_________________________
Across the continent in London England, Marcus and Attarah were wondering around the bedroom getting ready to go out. The brunette was aware of her mates gaze following her but she dismissed it, it wasn't anything he hadn't seen before.
"Where are we going exactly?" the small girl asked as she Sat at the vanity in the corner of the bedroom. She had no clue what to wear and was basing off of his outfit. He was dressed smartly yet casually at the same time which she found confusing.
"secret love" he smirked and she sighed before entering the bathroom to change away from prying eyes. She wore a light peachy pink jumpsuit, white and pink Oxford heels and a white hat atop her glamorous curls.
"This will have to do" she sighed as she exited the bathroom to find Marcus, Alec, Demetri and Felix standing around in perfect attire.
"You look gorgeous my love" Marcus informed and quickly took her hand, not wanting her to fall. All three Vampire guards nodded in agreement and she scoffed as they made their way out of the hotel. Of course, they had their guards following.
"Where are we going?" she asked again and Marcus just smirked as they drive through town in an elegant car that was probably owned by the Volturi. Nothing would surprise Attarah at that point.
Finally, they arrived at a large garden, a gazebo was situated in the centre and people everywhere of all ages were dancing elegantly to the beautiful music. Marcus took Attarah in his arms and began to sway and waltz beneath the twinkle of stars, his arm tight around her middle to prevent her from falling but gentle enough for her to not feel pain.
On the outskirts of the party in the street, Alec and Demetri took endless photos of the dancing couple whilst Felix winked and smirked at every woman in sight. As the music shifted to a more upbeat tempo, Felix grabbed Demetri and the pair began to spin one another down in a lively drunken fashion as Alec watched on in embarrassment and Attarah giggled.
Alec sighed as he finally pushed the hotel door open after a long night. Partway through the night, Felix and Demetri had decided to take a snack and had returned seemingly as high as a kite and it was no shock as to why. If a vampire drank the blood of an intoxicated human, the feelings passed to them which was another benefit to drinking from humans rather than animals.
"They are crazy" Attarah giggled as she entered the hotel room behind Alec who was watching Felix and Demetri as they swayed their hips and threw their hands in the air.
"I think this may be their first time experiencing this, at the Volturi, we almost always drink from tourists on tour at the castle." He sighed and snatched Attarahs hat off of her head, pressing it onto his own head as he flopped onto one of the couches."Where's Marcus?"
"He went to get me food, he's being overly protective today" she sighed either a smile as she hopped over the back of the couch and landed so she was sat on Alec's knees, he chuckled and moved his legs before placing them on her lap.
"I'm back love" Marcus smiled as he sat in the armchair beside the couch, passing his mate a Takeaway box filled with food. She ate with it sat on the edge of the couch and didn't look up again until she heard both gentlemen on either sad gasp.
When she did eventually look at the source of their reaction, she was also shocked and emitted a gasp. In front of her on the opposite couch, Felix had tackled Demetri and they were..kissing. "Do either of you have a phone on you? This is a perfect blackmail material?"Alec held his hand out and Marcus handed him a flashy iPhone.
"Come on Demi" Felix ground against him and Attarah covered her eyes. Say what you like but she was still innocent and didn't want to see that. Marcus chuckled and stood, lifting her up and carrying her from the room. Alec quickly sped into his room when clothes began to shred.
"So are they mates?" The brunette asked her mate curiously, knowing of his power to see bonds between people. He chuckled and shook his head as he placed her on the edge of the bed.
"Just very drunk" he kissed her and lay on the bed as she stood, grabbing for her zip and trying to remove her outfit as she twirled slightly, trying to reach it. Marcus smiled softly and pushed her hands away, taking the zip and trying to pull it down without breaking it.
The vampire failed in his attempts and suddenly growled, ripping the outfit from her body until she stood in only her heels and lingerie. Attarah turned around and grabbed his lapels, pushing his suit jacket off his shoulders and ripping his shirt open.
Marcus stood in shock as Attarah jumped up with her legs winding around his waist. He grabbed her below the thighs as she didn't fall and she kissed him passionately. Marcus stepped back and tumbled onto the bed, his hands grasping the remaining material on her outfit in shock. Her hands had woven into his hair but now moved down to nimbly unbuckle his belt and pull it from the loops.
His trousers and underwear soon followed and he gasped in shock at his sudden nudity, he wanted her and his body knew it but he couldn't, she was too young and his former partner popped into his mind...Didyme.
"Tara, stop" he breathed out but she either didn't hear or didn't listen. He tried again with a similar reaction. Suddenly he flipped them over and pinned her hands back to get her attention...it worked. "Listen to me" he tried, as he looked into her eyes he saw the haziness and knew just how drunk she had become...she was underage.
"Do you not want me?" She sat herself up, sliding away from him to the edge of the bed. Her heels had already been removed and she pulled on sweatpants and a large T-shirt. She felt so ashamed of herself because the entire time she'd been with them she thought she wasn't ready and when she finally was she was rejected...it made her realize that she didn't even know if that was what they wanted.
According to what she'd heard from the Cullens, mating didn't have to be s****l or even romantic in fact. People could be mated to one another and have a sibling love but if they did kiss with a passion of love, they solidified the mating as romantic and the mating pull set into place but did that necessarily mean that Marcus even wanted them to be s****l.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have forced myself on you, I'm slightly drunk and I was caught in the moment...I'm sorry... I get that you don't want me," she informed and refused to face him as she slid some trainers onto her feet, walking through the door into the corridor.
Marcus stood in shock for a moment before scrambling to throw on some clothes, chasing the love of his life. He couldn't believe how he'd reacted for she was all he had wanted and when she gave herself to him; he forced her away. He also felt guilty about his thoughts of Didyme, she was no longer his mate, Attarah was.
He grabbed Attarah by the elbow and swung her around until she fell against him, his arm the only thing keeping her from falling onto the floor. He placed his hand against her cheek and she instinctively leant into the cold touch. "Of course I want you...how could I not? I just don't trust myself not to hurt you" he stressed as his forehead creased in worry.
"But I trust you" she whispered and he forward as he kissed her once more and carried her to the room again.
----
Attarah made her way through the sitting room of the hotel room and placed her suitcase by the door before heading back to her room. She had repeated the journey a few times over the last hour with various bags and cases as Marcus and Felix had both gone hinting before the plane ride and Alec and Demetri occupied their time by watching her struggle.
"so... What happened between you and Felix then?" Alec smirked at his fellow guard as Attarah finally took her place on the couch beside them, sighing in relief as her aching legs got a rest, packing was exhausting.
She listened in on Alec teasing Demetri and smirked happily as Demetri shuffled awkwardly. She was returning back to Italy that day and had two days off from holidays to see Caius before she left once more with Aro to wherever he wished to take her. She was also to be joined with Alec, Demetri and Felix once more as they had begun somewhat of private guards to her along with friends. After a week or a few days away with Aro, she was to return for two days and then leave with Caius again.
She had a busy schedule but was exhilarated to spend time with all of her mates in private and she was excited to get to know the other two as well as she now knew Marcus. The guards also seemed excited to go away but she knew that they wouldn't be able to act as freely around the strict influence of Aro as they had with Marcus.
She imagined where Aro would take her and she thought that it would probably be somewhere secluded though close to a large area where the public lived. It would be extravagant she was fairly certain that the location was cold as the guards had dropped a few hints and it seemed like the perfect atmosphere for Aro.
That left her believing that Caius would take her somewhere hot and she was excited for their trip as she felt as though Caius would make it madly adventurous and interesting.
Marcus soon returned to the hotel apartment to find Demetri and Alec wrestling around on the floor and Attarah watching with a faraway expression, oblivious to the danger that threatened her from their play fighting. The oldest king grabbed his little brunette mate and lifted her up from behind. Spinning her around as she giggled and squealed, he mentally prepared himself to be away from her.
"I'm afraid it's time to go home little love" Marcus informed as he placed her upon her feet. She nodded with a downhearted expression and he kissed her forehead once before pulling back to assess her outfit. She had changed since he had seen her that morning. When he left, she still lounged around on the bed in his shirt.
Now she wore grey stretchy exercise leggings, a plain white shirt with the short sleeves turned up twice, expensive grey trainers that had been purchased for her by the kings with an Adidas branding and a dark grey hat that covered her hair that had been plaited into two Dutch braids on either shoulder.
"you look adorable" she giggled and pecked him on the lips before heading to the door and pulling on her waterproof lilac jacket that she had arrived in and waiting for the others to join her so they could leave. Eventually, everyone had departed the hotel room and shoved the cases into the back of two Volturi owned flashy cars.
Attarah waved at the guards before entering the passenger seat of Marcus' car. There was a long drive to the jet and she was to be driving with her mate. She clipped her seat belt around her and pulled the warm fluffy blanket around her that the guards had provided. She also had a small travel pillow that she put against the door and rested her head on. Marcus stepped into the car and smiled at her before beginning to drive out of the hotel's private underground garage. It wasn't too dissimilar to the one at the castle.
The rain soon hammered against the windows all around them as they drove through London. Marcus handed her a travel mug full of hot chocolate as she shivered and Attarah smiled gratefully. After a few mouthfuls, she put it into the cup holder and snuggled into the door to sleep. She had purposely kept herself awake all night with Marcus so she would be able to sleep for a long time. They had Sat and talked and kissed all night long and neither complained.
Marcus felt connected to her more now that they had spent that time together, he felt that she was more he mate then she ever had been. The three gold bonds reaching away from her were three different shades and the one between them was by far the brightest. Caius' closely followed somehow but Marcus' was still closest to being fully developed, only a few acts could improve its intensity. It was such a bright gold that it almost seemed yellow whereas Caius' was rose gold and Aro's bond was a reddy yellow.
Marcus hoped that Aro's holiday to Iceland with Attarah would improve their bond somewhat. The lodge they were staying in was small and cute and warm and hidden in a forest a mile or two away from a small village. The guards had been purchased a house of their own a mile or so in the other direction and Aro had been practically buzzing with excitement since they had planned their holidays.
Marcus would surely miss Attarah, but Aro had promised that he would allow them all to video chat over the time away. His schedule for the holiday had been tightly packed with things to do due to the extensive activities available in Iceland during its snowy season but the other kings had managed to break it down somewhat so their little mate wouldn't get too tired.
