Day 9

I wake up to waves lapping up around me as I lay on sand, I try to get up, but my arms give out… everything goes black again. I awake and the sun is setting I try to get up again and I manage to pull myself up “Come on Erica you got this” I push myself up I got to my knees and sat like that for a while trying to get pass the dizziness, I open my eyes and look around “Where the f**k am I” I groan as I push myself to get to my feet “Have to get out of this water” I stumble further up the beach to the shrubbery, I lay down in the dip curling up into a ball falling asleep.

Day 10

“Erica, Erica wake up, wake up!” I feel someone’s hand touching my face “Don’t touch me” I try to open my eyes but they are so tired and swollen, I feel someone’s strong arms scoop me up holding me close “Ahhh f**k” I cry out, “It’s ok l’amour I’m here, I’ll keep you safe” I start to cry softly, he coo’s me “Shhh  now your safe” everything was going fuzzy, I remember being placed into the back of a car then nothing.

Day 15

*Beep Beep Beep of hospital machines* I started coughing “Nurse, nurse she’s waking up!!” I heard someone yell, someone runs in “It’s ok Erica relax darling its ok” I feel the tube being pulled out, I gasp for air then I start coughing deep and raspy I feel someone place a straw at my mouth “Drink up now love it will help” my mouth opens just a little bit my face still very swollen from the attack, I feel tears fall from my closed eyes as I sip the water. I can hear feet coming and going there is something covering my face and eyes, someone touches my hand I flinch “Who’s there?” I ask, “min älskade dotter det är din mamma, jag är här nu är du säker”(my darling daughter it’s your mother, I’m here now your safe) she says to me in Swedish, “Mamma” I sob, she holds my hand I can feel her tears on my hand I feel her pull my hand to her lips “I thought I had lost you forever my baby, but Grayson found you everyone was looking… but he has connections in some places we don’t my darling” my breath caught at the sound of his name and the memory came back to me “I do remember that he found me and put me in a car” I said I wanted to open my eyes “I want this stuff off my face I want to open my eyes…” I pleaded, I hear my mother sigh “Ok darling…” she calls over a nurse “Are you sure darling, you took quite …. “ her words trailed off “Yes please” she takes the bandages off slowly, the air on my skin was soothing I relaxed “She’s looking much better now” the nurse grabs some saline and wipes, she begins cleaning my face I slowly open my eyes, blood shot completely red like my hair from the punches at my eyes “How is it?... is it bad??” my mother smiled at me “My darling not as bad as you were, when you first came here…but your healing nicely” the nurse smiled also “Your mother is right darlin, your healing up a treat now just buzz if you need anything” she walks out and my mother follows her sliding shut the glass door “My darling we have to take you somewhere safe, we are getting you out of the country till we can source out the threat to you… what do you remember?” I blink at my mother her long black hair pulled back showing her tired lines from this ordeal “Tell Ragnor, Revna and Ulric it’s to do with Jimmy Belatas… they wanted to know what I know… I gave them nothing… but hell…and I’m from some pack a werewolf I’m assuming but I’m not… I’m a succubus…” my mother takes my hand again kissing it “You have always been outstanding in whatever you do, you have excelled even when you were beaten and bleeding... you, you risked your life for the client... I knew this day was going to come but…didn’t think this would happen?” she spoke softly with such love and affirmation, I told her everything that happened from my bedroom to when Grayson found me “Darling…I’m speechless, you are a true shield maiden Odin would have been proud to call you one of his children” she got up and kissed my fore head “No one not even Dimitri is going to know where you will go I won’t either…I’ve entrusted someone capable of keeping you safe, while we do the back work… He will be here soon; I have got a locked briefcase for you…. You will know the number when you think of us… I am just going to meet him and walk him in” I nod “Whatever you think is best… for the time being… I want to get my hands on those mangy f*****g mutts” I growl, she smiles “I promise when we have them I will leave them for you to deal with” she then walks away I have cords from my hands and chest for different gadgets and fluids, I’m sitting on the edge of the bed my back to the door and my gown open bruises across my shoulder blades all the way down my back, I place one foot down on the ground while still holding the bed I go to place my other foot down as I hear my mother’s heels clicking in the hallway, I grab hold of the mobile support for my IV I start to slide with the support but before I can hit the ground someone catches me, his scent hits my nose and it causes me to moan softly “Grayson” I keep my face from his view “Don’t look at me” I turn away from him, he gently places a finger under my chin turning to face him “l’amour you will always be beautiful, and there is nothing wrong with you now” I look up into his eyes and I could see the truth, tears start to fill my eyes and roll down my cheeks. Please Grayson look after her... hide her… and keep her safe, the hospital is going to give you all the medication and medical supplies you will need for the next week or two… and then she should be fine…” she walks over to me “Be safe my darling we will see you again, don’t worry about anyone at home they will be ok, oh also here is some clothes for you to wear they are nice and loose I didn’t think you would want anything tight… also a hat” she kisses my cheek.

I watch her leave, she walked like she was a woman on a mission ‘she was … on mission to get those c**k suckers’ I look back at Grayson as he unhooks me from the machines, he helps me slip out of the gown his breath caught I looked down at my body “…I’m sorry… not really how I want –” he places his finger over my lips “I told you that you are still beautiful no matter what.. it makes me angry that I couldn’t find you quicker… f*****g – nothing doesn’t matter don’t worry about it right now; we have a long drive we can talk more than” We finish getting me dressed, they gave us a wheelchair for me to sit in.

Once we are in Grayson G-wagon fully blacked out tint with a chrome reflection so we could see how but they cannot see in, even the front and back window have just the chrome reflective tint. Grayson puts a blanket over me as I sit in the front with him, I stare at Grayson as he drives “So what were you going to say in the hospital… but decided against it?” I asked softly, he looks at me for a moment and then turned back to the road “You know I would never or ever will lie to you… I got so angry with Dimitri; he was useless… I ended up going on my own because he did not want to use my connections as it was illegal…kind of… If he only let me earlier I could of found you sooner… before it got this bad… and no one at your house knew what happened until the end of the first day so nearly 24hours had gone by no one checked in on you because the door was locked…” his grip on the steering wheel was tightening, I extend my hand placing it onto his hand soothing him “But you found me” I whisper he turns his head and looks at me “What if I didn’t find you? What if they got you again… or still had you…? Or I still waiting for his orders… you would have died on the beach… I would have killed him… I almost still did” he takes my hand holding it in his, I was glad he had this customized it has a bench seat in the front so I moved over unbuckling and then buckling in when I was next to him I place my head onto his shoulder closing my eyes he wraps his arm around me while still holding the steering wheel with his other hand “Sleep now l’amour” his hand that’s wrapped around me draws little circles around my arm sending me off to sleep.
