The Function

Night of function

I stood in front of my mirror I’m wearing a black lace sheath dress that stops mid thigh sleeveless with a pair of black strappy stilettos with a white silk shawl, my long red hair is half up and half down in and curled and pinned with a braid from ear to ear and is mixed within the curls, my make up is smoky with black eyeliner that has the wing effect it has a red similar to my blood red hair and some red blusher on my cheeks with a blackish purple lipstick. I check my phone and sigh ‘nothing… I know he said he had to MIA but …’ I shake my head, I start walking out into my room someone is knocking on the door, I walk over to it unlocking it to see Ragnor standing there “You ready to go everyone is in the limo waiting” I nod I grab my red bag slipping my phone, gun and cigarettes  into it and walk to Ragnor, I slip my arm into his as we walk to the car “Where’s Dimitri?” I ask quietly as we step down the stairs “His meeting us there, his family is here for the function…” I nod “Well that’s good then” I say.

I slip into the back seat next to Ulric and Ragnor next to me, I smile at everyone Tanya, Mother, Father, Revna and Lucas that are in the limo as we take off my other hands out glasses of Moscato and glasses of fine rum to the men I down mine so quick that they actually thought she had handed me, “Mother can I have a double rum please” I ask her as I hand her back the flute, “Sure darling are you ok?” I nod “Yeah just need something stronger today is all” she nods and gives me my double, everyone is looking at each other and then at me but all I have eyes for is my rum in my hand.

After another two of those I stop I haven’t eaten today so it will go straight to my head, once we arrive, we get out and I instantly light up my cigarette and offering one to Ragnor who takes one along side with Tanya “Sooo you two, are you dancing together tonight?” Tanya looked at me with a raised brow “Nope” Ragnor same expression “Double nope” I roll my eyes, I can smell how much they want each other they are mates but are denying each other of that its been like this for years.

We start walking to the main entrance that everyone was I let the two ‘love’ birds go in first “I’ll be in, in a minute” I watched as they walked in briefly their skin touching and it was like crackling electricity they looked at each other Tanya bites her bottom lip and Ragnor grins and as quickly that happened they moved away from one another and kept walking in.

I stood their drawing out my cigarette, it felt like someone is watching me again I look around and nothing I can hear footsteps walking up my back to them and as he walked passed I could smell it ‘him’ but as quickly as those footsteps came they disappeared as quickly into the crowd of people inside…I pull out my phone and send the mystery messenger ‘you’re here aren’t you’ I slip my phone back into my bag and walk in everyone was starting to sit down, my family was up the front in a round table Tanya had to go and sit with her family as did Dimitri, I didn’t look for Dimitri I just scanned the room looking for ‘him’ but the room went dark with dimmer I sigh and look back to the table I’m sitting at.

After speeches, awards and food the music starts to play I sit and open my phone no messages I lean over and whispers into Revna’s “I’ll be back” I excuse myself and walk out and into the carpark  I light up and lean against a pillar “Erica there you are” I hear Dimitri coming up behind me “Yeah I’ll be back inside soon…” he wraps his hand around my arm and pulls me to him “No you have to come inside now” he takes my cigarette from me and flicks it away “You know those are bad for you” I pull back but his grip tightens “Dimitri let me go” i hiss at him, but he raises a brow at me “No you need to come inside now” I growl “f*****g let me go now and I’ll walk inside” he does as I’ve asked, I pull my shawl up to cover my arms knowing they will bruise, “What is wrong with you… bruise me again and you’ll see the other side of me” he sighs “I’m sorry moya lyubov” he hugs me “I forget sometimes..” he tilts my head up with his finger and kisses me softly “You look beautiful” he whispers against my lips before he pulls back and takes my hand, I follow him I don’t say anything and we walk inside… As we move through the people my hand rubs up against another male tall his back to me our hands briefly setting my skin a light, I try to stop but Dimitri holds my hand tightly to keep me with him I look at the male who turns just briefly to look at me our eyes shine momentarily before I’m pulled away ‘you’re here’ I think to myself so I thought ‘l’amour I’m here but we still cannot meet yet’ ‘Why…?’ ‘its to dangerous’ ‘when wont it be…’ ‘you will know l’amour I’ll be the one holding your hand’ ‘ok…’ Dimitri looks back at me as we reach the dance floor “Come dance with me?” I nod and smile “Of course” he spins me out and back into him, he places his hand on my lower back and the other hand intertwined with mine. We dance for a few songs it was really nice to do, I enjoyed dancing another song passes “I need to have a drink Dim” he nods “Of course…” I walk off to the bar grabbing a double scotch and shotting it like it was nothing “Another please” I ask politely to the barman “No problems Miss Von Renouf” he pours it for me and I disappear outside lighting up another cigarette but I decided to walk around to the side of the building to stay out of site, but I stop I can see a male figure with a woman looks like they are having fun I could smell it in the air the build-up of s*x “how do you like that” his voice thick Russian “oh don’t stop just like that I want you inside of me” I blink ‘it’s Dimitri’ I stop and stare, my glass falls from my hand smashing into pieces at my feet I think I felt some glass cut my toe. They both stop and look, the look on Dimitri’s face was priceless “Babe its not what it looks like” he fixes himself up and starts walking towards me “And what does it look like?” I turn away and start walking back to the function “I don’t know what you saw but it wasn’t it” he grabs my arm hard, ‘that’s it’ I spin my arm around pulling it free while and sweep kick him making him fall to the ground, taking him completely by surprise “I f*****g told you, didn’t I?” I place my heel against his throat “So tell me what do I think I saw… just remember I’m a succubus I know” I could feel him swallow and not say a work “That’s what I thought, you f*****g dog” I pull out my phone and order an uber “Don’t say anything don’t come near me… you need to leave after tonight I think we need a break… you do know I know this isn’t the first time…” I remove my foot from his throat, he gets up fixing himself before he pushes me up against the wall “And why would you say some bullshit like that??” he growled his eyes glowing his hands on either side of my head “Don’t pull your Alpha s**t on me it doesn’t scare me, I came to visit you for a surprise last holiday and when I found you… you were in bed with another woman so tell me ‘its not what it looked like babe’ now baaabe” he was shocked and moved back “And that’s what I thought, take this ‘break time’ to rethink what you want… or is it what your family wants…” a car pulls up “My wuber is here don’t come to my room tonight you might as well finish what you started with that mangey f**k” I start to walk away “Erica please don’t do this… I’m sorry” I stop and without looking at him “Sorry isn’t going to cut it this time Dimitri…” I walk away with my head held high and make sure I have swing and swag as I walk to the wuber “Babe please” he calls out to me, I just lift one hand and my middle finger before getting into the car.
