“Actually I’m fine with that idea, I heard that the monster here in the river tastes really good and since it will be Teiko that will cook, I’m sure he’ll manage to make it even better,” Saki replied. “Heard that, Silica? So we need some equipment for fishing, right?” Teiko said. “And we also need some bait,” Akeiko said. “We could use some of the rabbit’s meat on Teiko’s inventory, I heard that it’s one of the best bait to use for fishing the monster here,” Saki replied. “I thought you didn't have much information about the monsters that live here? Then how do you know about that?” Teiko asked. “Well, it’s about food so I know that. Oh, I remember something, one of the best monster fish that we could catch here is called the Mythical Trout and the Eskiena Fish. I don’t know anymore more than that,” Saki replied. “So that’s the reason. Anyway, it’s good to know that we can fish here so it’s still great, we’ll have something to waste our time on,” Teiko replied. “But fishing is kinda boring, right, girls?” Saki said. “That’s also what I’m thinking,” Silica said. “Maybe let’s just hunt something that Teiko could use as a bait,” Akeiko said. “Fine, only the people that could catch fish would be able to eat what meal I made from it,” Teiko said. The three become serious. “Well, this event is unexpected,” Akeiko said. “To force us to do something boring, this guy is a total sadist,” Silica said. “Hey, I didn’t say anything about forcing you, right? I would still cook other meat for you so it’s fine if you wouldn’t try fishing,” Teiko said. “I don’t know what they’re talking about but I’m very willing to spend my time catching some fish,” Saki said. The Abysmal Bane Party started to gather materials that they could use for fishing. “Hey, Saki. Is that thing really big? You made a fishing pole that is made of a whole bamboo tree,” Teiko said. “We’re talking about monster fish, right?” Akeiko said. “You got a point, let’s just start this thing up,” Teiko replied. They started fishing early that afternoon. One hour had already passed but not a single bite happened. “This is why it’s really boring,” Saki said. “I thought you’re willing to do this,” Teiko said. “Even though we’re willing, this is really boring,” Silica said. “I agree with them, why do men like to do these things? You’re not even talking with us, how can you endure waiting this long, Teiko?” Akeiko asked. “All men are equal before fish. This is a great way to prove that we are good at doing nothing,” Teiko replied. “What? I thought you’re a person who wouldn't waste time?” Saki said. “This is not a waste of time,” Teiko replied. “Wait, you just said that earlier. Like we go fishing so we could waste some time,” Akeiko said. “Are you guys gonna focus on fishing or not?” Teiko said. “Focus on what?! We’re basically not doing anything, how can we focus on doing this,” Akeiko said. Suddenly Akeiko’s line caught something. “I told you to focus!” Teiko exclaimed. Teiko jumps at Akeiko’s big fishing rod to strike the line. Teiko struggled at first due to his uneven footing. He then manages to reel in the fish that was caught. “It’s big! And scary, too! How can the line withstand such weight and force from that monster fish?” Silica said. “It’s because it’s not struggling to get out of being hooked, it’s eating the line and directly wants to engage us,” Teiko said. “Then I’ll incinerate it!” Akeiko said. “No, don’t do that, you might ruin the meat of that monster fish. Silica, try to shoot it with your arrow. Make sure you’re not using a fire arrow, okay?” Teiko said. “Maybe I should shoot it’s eyes? Then here goes nothing,” Silica said. Silica draws out her bow and shoots the monster fish. “What? It just broke the arrow with its sharp fang and just ate it. What a monster?! It’s very strong,” Silica said. “Hey, Silica. Can you stop that? I’m pretty sure that shot you made is just half-ass, be serious or we might not have any dinner today,” Akeiko said. “Hehe, you got me,” Silica said. Silica immediately shoots the monster fish with two arrows, both on its eyes. “And we secured our dinner, this fish is very big so one is enough,” Teiko said. Saryx purred at Teiko. “Okay, I’m just kidding. We’ll be fishing until we catch five of these,” Teiko said. “Should I just randomly shoot arrows in this river?” Silica asked. “And how will we gather them? The flow of the water is very violent and the only reason we catch this fish is because it ate through Akeiko’s fishing line. Even if we attach string to your arrow, there’s no way that we could reel it from this kind of turbulence,” Teiko said. The three sighed. “You guys just create as many fishing rods as possible and we just wait a bite from that many fishing rods, okay?” Teiko said. “Fine, fine. It’s better than what you’re doing,” Silica said. They manage to catch different monster fish in a single day. “I don’t know which one of these is the Eskiena Fish but I got the feeling that this is the Mythical Trout. Teiko-nii, I suggested that you cooked this one first,” Saki said. “Okay, just wait there as I cook. You can watch me if you want so you guys could cook on your own in the future,” Teiko said. They started their riverside dinner and tasted one of the best meals of their lives. “I’m pretty sure that every meal that Teiko cooked is the best meal,” Akeiko said. “Yup, I agree. My nightmare of being the one cooking for my husband has been solved,” Silica said. “Stop daydreaming, Teiko’s food is for all of us,” Saki said. “Stop that guys, for now let’s just fish until we find the silver bridge that Saki is talking about. We’ll it’s fine. I’ll be the only one that will fish during night time but I need Silica to kill the fish,” Teiko said. Everyone laughs. After days, Saki was able to detect the Silver Bridge through her magic. “It’s good that we chose going north,” Teiko said. “Just like this river, that bridge is also enormous. I couldn’t think of how the monster on the river could hunt their prey,” Silica said. “I think they’re not swimming to hunt, look at that,” Akeiko said.
