CHAPTER THREE: NO ONE IMPORTANT

792 Words
LAMARCUS POV I jolt upright, my chest heaving slowly. I am damp despite the cold night. It was a dream? My head feels light. I need a drink; I pull the duvet aside— I feel a gentle yet firm weight across my waist. I look and see a soft hand resting on my abdomen. Oh s**t! What's her name? Tracy or Tanya? f**k, I don't know. Her small, beautiful frame sprawls on the bed, naked. I gently remove her arm from my waist so as not to wake her. Wearing only my trunks, I walk to the mini bar at the other end of the room. I scan the shelves then settle on a drink. I grab the glass cup and pour myself a glass of Château d’Yquem, then I stroll to the balcony. It's been a long time since I last had that one, the nightmare. Five years ago. So why did I see her again? But only tonight it wasn't a nightmare. It was, instead, a nice dream. Who is she anyways? I take a sip of the wine. For some vague reason, I feel she can fill this giant hole in me that opened up five years ago. From the news I watched with Alvaro, she was found guilty of murdering her mate and his father. That's one cold f****d up s**t to do, but why? In my previous nightmares, she always kills me but tonight's dream was different. It's like she…yearns for me. And I, her. Now, that's f****d up because she will be sentenced to death come dawn. I have never felt this way before. Not since she…passed away. I exhale deeply and take another sip of the wine. The trial was made public. The evidence was overwhelming but when the cameras zoomed in on her face, her eyes said it all. The live stream was cut off after the judgement was passed, but I watched her closely during the proceeding. Her eyes held it all; I saw the blame, pain, and something I am not a stranger too…regret. But regret for what? Just who are you, Aydae? “Who's that?” A soft voice calls from behind me. My eyes widen with surprise and shock. Oh s**t! Did I blurt it out loud? I spin around and shoot her a smile as I walk to her. “It's no one important, dear.” I plant a kiss on her lips. I slip my hand round her waist and pull her closer for a deeper kiss. Oh! I think I remember her now. Olivia? I pull away, still smiling. “Is that château I just tasted on your tongue?” “You know your wine, Olivia. Yes it is.” I pass her the glass in my hand. Seeing as she didn't react negatively when I called her Olivia then I guess that's her name. Phew! Lucky me. She takes a small sip, tilts her head and allows her taste buds to register the taste. Her eyes gleam with excitement which makes me smile. “It's f*****g amazing.” She takes another sip. “It sure is.” She smoothly gulps the remaining content down her throat. I gently collect the glass cup from her and stare into her eyes with wild pleasure. “Let's go back to bed, Olivia.” My voice is deep and low. “Of course, Marc,” she smiles softly. I stretch my arm and she grabs it. I yank her gently towards me and place my hand on her bare ass while the other cups her chin to my lips. I brush my lips on her, teasing her. I pause and frown. Alvaro just mind-linked me. I smile and mouth to Ollie, “a minute, dear.” “You couldn't have picked a better time, Var?” I make sure my displeasure is noticeable through my tone. “I am sorry, Lamarc. It couldn't wait. But I am certain it will be worth your time, I promise.” It sure sounds important, “What's that?” I ask with growing curiosity. “You won't believe what the pack's scouts caught in their net.” He sounds almost excited. Alright, now you are just annoying me, Alvaro “Am I supposed to know who?” My voice is slightly raised. I'm sure he knows that I am getting pissed right now. “It's the lover killer. Your nightmare girl and…” Aydae? My heartbeat skips and my brows furrow. I cut him off quickly. “I am on my way to you, Var. Where are you?” “The pack's clinic. She's heavily injured and for a strange reason, she's not healing fast enough.” “I'm on my way.”
