s**t. s**t. s**t. I was sorry for wrecking Millie’s rare mood. Now she was really strung out. I was going to have to cheer her up so we could continue where we left off. But in my heart of hearts, I knew something had happened. Something that could not be undone. By the time I got her back to our hotel room she was dead to the world and just lay there like a log, exactly the way she had described her mother.
