Whatever happens now is on her, and I won’t be responsible. I turned my back on her after watching how everyone shuddered at his voice in that section of the mall.
“How dare you!” He didn’t roar, but his voice shook her down to a pulp and made me wonder if she was going to run and leave her bags.
I wondered why I was even turning my back on her. I hoped to put on a show for everyone, recording on their phones.
“My darling husband. Nobody touched me; they know better than to dare. You wouldn’t spare them the chance to breathe for even a second.” I calmly wrapped my hand around his neck, and he pulled me into his arms for a kiss.
“Don’t worry about her.”
“What else do you want?”
“I think the adjustment is enough.” I looked back at the bags that were packed up by the workers
