The fire raged around Kate, its heat unbearable. The world felt like it was closing in on her, the flames slowly engulfing everything around her, threatening to consume her. Blood continued to stream out from the wound on her chest, and Kate's breath became shallow and weaker. Tears streamed down her face as she felt her body growing cold, her strength fading. She couldn't hold on any longer. Suddenly, voices began to echo in the fire. "Young master, she's in here!" "Call 911 immediately!" "Kate?!" "Kate, are you in there?!" A man's desperate voice rang out amidst the thick black smoke. "Justin?" She whispered, barely able to make out words. Justin's face appeared in her blurring vision. His eyes were wide with panic, as he saw her state. He tried desperately with shaking hands to stop the bleeding. "No, no, no," he muttered in disbelief as he shakily knelt down beside her. "Kate, did that bastard do this to you?" Kate's lips trembled as she managed to whisper. "Justin, I'm sorry. You were the only one who truly loved me…" The pain in her chest was overwhelming, and she could feel the darkness closing in. The grim reaper was close at hand. "I'm sorry, Kate... I'm so sorry for not being able to protect you," Justin whispered, his voice breaking. "Please don't go." He held her close to his chest in a bid to shield her from the inevitable. His hands shook, pressed against her wound, but the blood flowed endlessly, staining his palms. "It's not your fault," Kate muttered, her voice barely audible. Every word breathed out felt like a struggle as she lay in pain. Kate's vision blurred, and her body felt heavy. She closed her eyes, her final breath escaping her lips. Please... Please, let me go back… She thought about her past, the sacrifices and the love she had for Nathan, the life she had lost and the betrayal that had consumed her. She had given everything up for Nathan, but now, in her final moments, she realized it had all been for nothing. Everything had been a lie from the start. The love he claimed to have for her, the promises he had whispered during the night were all fake and pretense. The tears she had shed for him and the nights she kept waiting and worrying if he was safe were all for nothing because he was always with another woman. At that moment of despair, as her world went dark, she made a silent prayer to the heavens. "Give me a second chance. I can't die like this, I can't let them win. Please, I need to make things right. I will make them pay for what they did. Please, send me back." " I will make them pay. I will make Nathan and Vera suffer for what they have done to me." And then, everything stopped. The heat of the flames, the sharp pain in her chest, the suffocating smoke, it all seemed to have disappeared. Kate felt weightless. It was as if she was being suspended in the air. She couldn't see, but she could feel. A strange sense of peace filled her. Is this how death feels? Peace? Suddenly, there was a blinding light. Time rewinds, rushing backwards in a flash. She was no longer in the burning warehouse. She was standing in a familiar place, a place she hadn't seen in years. It was her home. Kate opened her eyes, blinking in confusion as she looked around, her heart racing. The air was fresh and cool, she could feel the warmth of her own body, alive, whole and untouched. She reached up to touch her chest where she had been stabbed, but it was gone. There was no scar, no sign of the injury. She took a deep breath, her mind racing with every thought. What is this? How is this possible? Suddenly, she realized what had happened. The second chance she had prayed for during her last moments had been granted unto her. She had been reborn! "Miss, are you okay?" A voice interrupted her thoughts. The sound startled her. She turned around to see the driver staring at her with a concerned expression on his face. Kate pursed her lips, recollecting herself, she forced a smile and nodded. "Yes, yes. I'm fine." The driver nodded, seeming unsure and walked away. She was back. Kate tried to remember what date it was, and she remembered that this was the day she and her mother were to go pick up her wedding dress for her marriage to Nathan. That means she was back a week before she got married to Nathan. Kate walked into the living room and her eyes went teary at the sight of her parents who were chattering happily. She wanted to run and hug them, telling them how much she had missed them after her death. But, if she were to do that now, they might think she had lost her mind. On noticing her presence, her mother looked up and smiled warmly. "Kate, darling, you're home early. Your dad and I were just going through the collections. We're going to pick up your wedding dress. I'm so excited." Kate froze, her mind racing. This was the moment of her redemption. She could feel her old, naive self slipping away. This time she was different. She had the power to change things, to make different choices. And for the first time in years, she felt a sense of hope. She was going to make things right, reclaim her life. Nathan had destroyed her family and ruined her life. Remembering what Vera had whispered into her eyes, Kate's jaw tightened as her face darkened. She won't let them get away with this! Seeing her silence and change of expression, her mother's face turned into a concerned look. "What's wrong Kate? Having wedding jitters?" "Mom, dad, I have something important to tell you both."
