The rain sliced sideways across the windshield, a hypnotic rhythm echoing in sync with Aria’s throbbing skull. Each drop seemed to hammer memories into her mind that weren’t hers—or at least, hadn’t been until now.
Dante’s knuckles gripped the steering wheel tighter as he glanced over at her. She was pale, trembling, her eyes locked on nothing. Again.
“Another one?” he asked softly.
Aria nodded slowly, her voice barely above a whisper. “This time... I saw a child. Me. Drawing a picture on the glass. And someone was watching. Behind a mirror.”
Beside her in the backseat, Lira leaned forward, eyes darting between the two of them. “You’re remembering.”
“No,” Aria muttered. “I’m reliving.”
