Chapter5

We sat around the fire for what seemed like forever before Genius spoke up, “Princess, you might want to do your weird zone out thing and talk to Violet, find out what is wrong with her.” Looking back down at the ground. I just wanted to spend more time with them, but we all wanted to run in our wolf forms, and not many of us have gotten to do it lately because of all this training. I just shook my head at him. I closed my eyes so that I could focus on where she was in my head. I found her curled up into a ball like she was asleep in the back of my mind, so I created a little me inside of my head so that I could walk over to her. I kneeled beside her and gently patted her head, but she didn’t respond right away. So, I opened my eyes, “Guys, she is asleep or something, and I can’t get her awake. I want you guys to back up just in case anything goes wrong because I don’t know what has been going on with her since the training, and I don’t want to hurt any of you.” They all looked at one another before turning back towards me. Genius walked closer to me, “Princess, Violet won’t hurt you. She is your wolf, and we’re not going anywhere. What are you talking about?” Shaking my head, “I don’t know exactly, but I could feel something is off with her since training. Please just stay back, I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself if something happened to you, please.” They didn’t say anything else; they just stepped back from me, so I closed my eyes once again, creating a little version of me. I walked up to Violet, who was still curled up in a ball in the back of my mind. “Violet, I need you to wake up to what is going on with you.” I gently stroked her head, and when she lifted her head, she seemed like she was ok, her normal violet eyes were still there. So, I stepped back for a moment, letting her stand on all fours, but then she turned towards me, and her eyes were no longer Violet; they were black. What the hell is going on? This is the same power I felt that day at training, “Violet, what is wrong with you? Are you ok?” She threw her head back and let this ferocious howl out; it sent shivers down my back. She looked at me with such anger, but I wasn’t sure what I had done to make her so angry. “Violet, talk to me, please. What is going on?” She c****d her head at me, “You are a stupid girl, aren’t you? Why did the moon goddess pair me with such a stupid little brat?” I was taken aback by what she said. She has never spoken to me like that before. “Violet, what is wrong with you? What happened at training? This isn’t who you are?” Again, she just c****d her head at me while she was stalking towards me, “The training? Oh, you mean with Ares, well, that just unlocked the demonic side of me, child.” Stepping back a little because she was inching closer to me and I didn’t trust how she was acting right now, “What does that mean, Violet? We are not evil, and you know that.” I swear she just laughed at me in wolf form, “You, stupid little girl, you know nothing of what we are, do you?” But before I could respond to her, she jumped at me, and I was just lucky enough to move out of the way before she could pin me. “Violet, stop it, this isn’t you, please.” She whipped around, swatting at me with her claws, “This is exactly what we are Artemis, you would know that if you would quit being such a pussy.” I flipped backward out of her reach again; I need to try and get through to her before something bad happens. “Violet, I am not being a p***y, or did you forget I just found out about all this six months ago?” She started circling me again, “Yes, it has been six months, hasn’t it, you spoiled little brat.” She lunged at me once again, but this time I was not able to move out of the way in time; she pinned me down, snarling in my face, the drool just dripping from her teeth. “You are a spoiled brat. You have been so scared of yourself and what we truly are that you have suppressed me every step of the way, but when I end you here, I will just simply replace your body, and I can be myself once and for all.” She sliced through my shoulder with her claws. I started screaming out in pain, but before she could bite me, a blinding bright light appeared then this woman stepped out of the light. What the hell is going on? This is my mind, how could anyone else walk through my head like it is a damn door? The lady raised her hand, removing Violet from my body and chaining her down beside me, “Well, hello, my dear child, how are you?” Looking at her in utter shock, “Um, who are you, and why are you in my head?” She just let out this angelic laugh that could melt anyone’s heart, “My dear child, you don’t remember me, do you?” Again, I was confused, “Honestly, no, I don’t.” Looking at her up and down, trying to figure it out, she had long black hair with white eyes that had a hint of violet in them. Her body was magnificent; she had curves in all the right places. She walked over to me, helping me to my feet before waving her hand over the cut, “My dear, I am the moon goddess Selene. I have come to free Violet of this darkness for now, but my child, you do have darkness in you, and you need to learn to embrace it.” She walked over to Violet, placing her hand on her snout, “My sweet Violet it is ok, mama is here, I will free you from this till the time comes for you to become one with the darkness.” This blinding light started radiating from Selene. I looked away because it was hurting my eyes. When the light faded away, I looked at Violet, and her eyes were no longer black. She snuggled into Selene like a scared child wanting the comfort of their mother. I walked a little closer, still very nervous about Violet. Selene stood up and turned towards me, “She will be ok but as I said, you need to accept who you are, finish reading of your family’s past, and you will learn.” She went to walk away from me, “Selene, wait, what did you mean when you told Violet mama was here?” Walking back over to me before caressing my cheek, “Everything will come to light in time, my child. I must not tell you the truth; you must learn it for yourself. Once you do come find me, I will answer all your questions.” I went to speak, but she just disappeared into thin air. Violet went to step closer to me, and I stepped back. “Artemis, why are you not coming close to me?” Looking down, “You don’t remember, do you?” She shook her head and lay down and started inching closer to me, “What happened, Artemis? The last thing I remember is Ares telling us to get angry, essentially.” I know it is not her fault, but it scared me a little bit. I bent down and placed my hand on top of her purple-tinted fur. I never realized how soft it was; it was like touching a blanket made of silk. The colors that were in her fur were amazing. Yes, it was predominantly purple, but she had slivers of white, pink, light purple, dark purple, and black throughout her fur like highlights. “Violet, you attacked me when I came into our mind to wake you up. You had not spoken to me since the training. The boys wanted to let you guys run together today, so I had to wake you, and when I did, your eyes were black, and you attacked me and said some mean things.” Violet started whining. I could see the tears streaming from her eyes and wetting her fur. I wiped the tears from her fur before placing my head on top of hers. “Artemis, I am so very sorry I would have never done that; I don’t know what is wrong with me.” Stroking her fur, “Violet, it is ok, it will take some time, but we will figure it all out, just talk to me before you go all evil she-wolf on me, please.” She just licked my face. I am glad that Selene came to help, but I am so damn confused as to what the hell is going on. I am being thrown in twenty different directions, and I have no clue which one is the right one.
