I woke up the next morning, and Genius was not next to me, which means Are’s must have woken him up to begin training. f**k why can’t any of this be easier than what it is? I got out of my bed and went to head to the bathroom when I was instantly pulled back to the kitchen. This is where I saw Hera sitting at the table.

Rolling my eyes, “Really, Hera, you couldn’t let me use the bathroom before forcing me out of my room!”

I just rolled my eyes at her once more before turning my head away from her.” I could feel her staring at me, so I turned back to her, “Little girl, don’t you dare roll your f*****g eyes at me, do you understand me?”

Going to roll my eyes again, and she smacked me in the back of the head. “Look, Artemis, I know that you’re mad about not getting the answers you think you deserve right now, but you need to complete this training before it is too late.”

Looking at her, I went to speak, but she once again held her hand up. “Loo,k Go use the restroom, get something to eat, then head to the den. Your brother is already waiting for you in there.”

With that, she got up from the table and went into her room, slamming her door. So, I did as she instructed. After I ate my breakfast, I went into the den where my brother lifted his head from the book he was reading. “Hey, squirt, you ready?”

I just looked at the book that was on my desk, and it was still Cage’s Family History. “Why is that book still there? Shouldn’t I be reading a different book by now?”

Zeus got up from the table, coming over to me and engulfing me in a big hug, “I don’t know, squirt, but this is what they want you to work on, so conquer this book, prove to them how strong you are.”

Knowing that he is right, but damn, why did all this have to fall into my lap? He is technically the oldest. Why did it have to be me? I let go of my brother, walking over to the chair, pulling it out. I sat down at the table, opening the book to where I left off.

As soon as I opened the book, the words started appearing across the page, again in the old language, and I knew that I needed to recite it, but I was not sure I wanted to travel backwards again; it always takes a lot out of me. But I started to repeat the language out loud, knowing that this was not going to be an easy one. “Blooð ór minn blood, þessi tími þú munu eigi réttr travel aptr inn tími, þessi tími ek munu takþúr þar, þú munu eigi munu able til travel aptr til þinn tími þar til þú ólock secretanórr okkarr kind’s past.Þú munu munu stuck inn þessi tími þar til þú realize truthinn at þú seek.Ek vættþúr eru sterkr œrinn til endure pastinn svá at þú Maysaver okkarr future.”

But this time, when I recited the spell, I did not just travel mentally; a whirlwind of power started surrounding me. I could hear Zeus, but not a lot, “Hera, get in here, something is going on with Artemis.”

I saw my grandmother run into the room, but as soon as I saw her face, it was gone.

I was instantly transported to a white area that I had never seen before in my entire life. That is when I saw Ama’s mother come forth, “My dear child, I must apologize, but this is how it must be; you can’t travel back to your time, no matter what you or the others from the past try. You have to endure what I have endured for you to understand everything. I am sorry, my child.”

With that, she disappeared back into the white light. Then I was instantly in the village that I first saw when I traveled here. But I was not in my own body; instead, I was in Ama’s body. “What the hell is going on?”

I was lifting my hands, looking at them, and they moved with me, “Violet, I need you. What is going on?”

But instead of hearing Violet, I heard Ama. “There is no Violet here, there is only my wolf and me.”

What the hell is she talking about? “Ama, why am I in your body?”

There was no answer for some time, but then she answered again, “Because you must have recited mother’s spell, and you have to be of the same blood for you to do this.”

Shaking my head, “Well, what am I supposed to do now?”

I waited again for what seemed like an eternity. “You must follow the clues that my mother has laid out for you. Just remember, you are not in your time any longer. I am here to help guide you, and my wolf is yours to use while you are here. I will let her come forth for you to meet her.”

I could see Ama’s mother in the distance walking towards us, “Hello Artemis, my name is Horae, I am Ama’s wolf and will be helping you during this time.”

I went to say something, but Ama’s mother had grabbed my hand. Honestly, she was very beautiful. “Look I know that you are not my daughter right now. What is your name?”

Looking at her, confused, “Um, my name is Artemis, granddaughter of Hera.”

Her eyes became wide, then she shook her head back and forth. “Well, that is of no use right now; everyone at this time will think that you are Ama, so you must act like her and follow my lead. Do you understand you can’t go back until you unlock everything, and this is the only time I will remember that you are not my daughter. Do you understand me?”

Nodding my head, letting her know that I understood, she dragged me back to her hut. Once inside, she spoke a different language, sealing the entrance to the hut. She turned toward me, “My name is Elena, I am Ama’s mother, and related to you, but I am not sure in what context yet.”

“This means you found the spells in my book and have been brought here for some reason. This means I will no longer remember who you are after today; you will just be my daughter. You will grow feelings towards me, it is expected, but just listen to my daughter, she will help you along the way, you will not be able to return to your time until you get what you have come here for, no matter how long it takes for this to happen.”

I went to speak, but she held her hand up to me just like Hera does to me all the time, “No time for questions, my child, go to sleep because tomorrow starts your journey. I am sorry that this has happened to you.” With that, she tapped me on my forehead sending me into a deep sleep.
