Opening the door, I tried to smile at the delivery man. He handed me the packaged food and I signed before closing the door.
“Jared?!” I called out from the hallway. “Do you want to eat in the kitchen or the dining room?” he didn’t respond. “Jared?”
Dropping the food on the dining table, I walked back to the kitchen only to find him lying motionless on the floor. Fear gripped me.
Closing the distance within seconds, I fell to my feet and cupped his cheeks, tapping it lightly. “Jared?” he didn’t respond. “Jared stop scaring me!”
He remained motionless. I placed my first and index finger on his neck and checked his pulse. I could feel it but it was very faint. I picked up his wrist and checked for his pulse and just like his neck, it was faint.
Should I call nine one one or Roi?
