Chapter 12: What’s Happening?
Three Years and a Couple Months
Henry felt the blood drain from his face as he heard the call ringing through. He drummed the fingers of his other hand against his thigh as Sam rested a hand on his shoulder and gave it a light squeeze of encouragement.
“Think positive,” Sam whispered. “Maybe they’ll be thrilled to hear from you.”
It was sweet, really, the way Henry’s family situation was so completely unfathomable to the Greenes. Henry had come to love not only Sam, but his entire family. The so-called “family values” people were the ones breaking families apart. It was people like the Greenes, supporting their families no matter their differences, who truly valued families.
