I held the divorce papers out to him. "Sign them."
Ethan shook his head wildly, wild panic swimming in his eyes. "No, I won't divorce you."
He locked his gaze hard on mine, enunciating every word slowly and deliberately, "Nora, I love you so much. How can you have the heart to divorce me? I know you're angry, but your mom and Rowan are fine now. Everything worked out for the best, so can't you just stop making a scene?"
He still thought I was just throwing a tantrum?
I shook off his hand and wiped it like I'd touched something dirty. "Did you forget? The people who died were your own family."
The ingratiating smile froze on his face. It took him forever to force a few words out through his teeth.
"They brought this on themselves. So... I can accept this outcome."
