Fuming, Becca hung a “closed for a private event” sign on the front door of the Wicked Cat. Even though she had an agreement with Desmond to shut the shop down whenever the Regulators needed it, this was horrible timing—right before her busiest hours. A couple wandered up to the door. "What do you mean you"re closed?" a man asked. "We made plans to hang out here tonight." "Private event," Becca said. "We forgot to put it on the calendar on our website. I"m sorry. If you wait a moment, I"ll give you a voucher for two free drinks next time." The man swatted at her and walked away with his girlfriend.
