In the parking lot of a grocery store, Aurora Grant sat in her car, staring at her cell phone’s screen. She had hoped that in the 15 minutes it had taken to drive from her house to the store that Becca would have responded to her texts. It was a rare miracle that she had gotten Cyrus on the phone earlier. Her texts to Becca went unanswered. It was Saturday night, but she didn’t usually take this long to respond.
