Chapter Twenty One : Ricci

1891 Words

Rosa returned home Tuesday morning, so Gia has to come back to the house. She opens the door to her house with a sigh as she walks in very, very slowly. Gia takes a look around the living room. It seems to still be the same from when she left it. Except, the vase and other things like picture frames from the walls are now long gone due to being shattered from the break-in. As she closes the heavy front door behind her, and throws her book bag against the coat rack, she sees her mother sitting on the sofa in silence as she looks down at a magazine in her hands. She doesn't seem to be reading, though. She looks as if she's day dreaming of sorts. "Mom?" Gia says, breaking the woman's dead stare at an perfume ad. "Oh, Gigi!" Rosa exclaims, crossing the living room to get to her daughter.
