Chapter Forty-Four

1060 Words

WILL'S POV No matter how sensible Liz tried to appear by constantly suggesting that we don't see each other often, she still smiled each day when she saw me. She looked forward to it and she texted often to know where I was when she was yet to see me. There was something about her that would not let me stay away even if I wanted to. It was the first time I was experiencing true friendship with a girl who was not friends with me because I was popular or because she thought I was simply fun to be with. Liz heard, listened and proffered solutions when she thought she could. She spoke the most encouraging words and her eyes held the most tender assurances at all times. There was a lot about her that reminded me of my mom and the friendship I had shared with her prior to her passing on.
