LIZ'S POV
When Amma said she understood how mom could be feeling, I didn't know what to say. I didn't know if to feel guilty or to be grateful that someone understood how mom felt, but I let it slide.
"The thing is, whatever they say has no effect on our relationship and that's where the problem lies." I continued.
She nodded and took one of my hands in hers. "I totally understand. You two can't just leave each other abruptly if you're truly into each other."
