Days after the incident at Amma's, we didn't talk about it and I did not probe because it was after all a family issue and she would only talk about it if she wanted to, not if I asked her.
I had felt bad on Roy's behalf because of the fight and had earnestly hoped he was not detaching himself from Amma like he had said. Amma had proven that she was difficult to deal with and I could only imagine what Lacey would have faced in the past.
There were lots of questions in my head but what use were those questions when Amma would not answer them?
The next day when we needed to go shopping for groceries, Amma said she had menstrual cramps and was generally in no mood to go anywhere so she wanted me to shop for myself and of course shop for her too.
