LIZ'S POV
Everything turned out fine only after Amma went to see Lacey and Roy. She was happy she did and I was too.
Lacey, according to her report, had cried when she had returned to her to say she was sorry and would not hold a grudge against her any more.
Her dad had not been around, but he came in and found her and Lacey engulfed in a hug, both of them crying, and he had joined in the embrace.
That was the second time in a year that Amma had visited and Lacey was so happy. Amma also said Lacey didn't stop talking about how she was her responsibility.
"Your mom would have wanted me to be a mom to you. She would have wanted me to take good care of you and I was beginning to fear that I had disappointed her in that." Was all the words Amma heard for as long as she was around Lacey.
