"He likes you!" Carla stated for the second time.
"What nonsense are you implying?" Carde scoffs. "There is no way that was ever possible."
"It's true. I saw the way he was looking at you." Adam spoke from two tables away while he was walking back to their table from the restroom. As if as an afterthought, he added, " I bet he kissed you when he sent us out of his office."
Carla mildly reprimanded Adam for being so bold. Carde might be their friend, but she was also their employer. And right now, they both needed their jobs because the pay was better than most and they had to pay off their student loans.
Adam did not mind if Carde got offended by his remark. He just wanted to know if what they had both been thinking while standing awkwardly outside the office for over thirty minutes was true. He eyed Carla saying, "You thought about it too!" With an eye roll after.
Carde thought about being mad. Their dirty thoughts were supposed to piss her off but she found that she wasn't feeling mad. Carde was having a totally different reaction to their words than one would expect. When her assistants shared a look that said 'I told you', Carde knew then that her reaction was giving a totally different answer than the truth.
