Arrival at the house was later than intended. Both employer and employee were anxious to get to the family house even though their interests and reasons were different. The drive to the house prompted them to go through the mall where Olyse had visited with his sister Dalia, two weeks prior. Dalia had seen a beautiful dress which she had fallen in love with. Dalia had visualised wearing the dress for her graduation before a sullen mood overcame her. Olyse tried and failed to find out what was wrong, or even convince her to get the dress which he was sure would look good on her. Olyse thought that he would buy the dress, have it packed to take it home where he would hand it over to Beth. If anyone could find out what reservations Dalia had about going to her graduation in that dress, Beth could and would also succeed in getting Dalia into that dress and attending her college graduation. The graduation wasn't until six months' time. But, Olyse knew that he may not have such an opportunity or remember to get the dress if it was still available before the graduation. Considering the departure from home had been early, the mall wasn't open to the public yet. The name Olyse Anderton would open the gates for him, but Olyse decided it was foolish to have the gates opened specially for him when he did not know the name of the shop. More laughable was his inability to remember the way which they had taken to the shop. Olyse had a good memory and would recall and retrace their steps. However, it was not a good description to give to the security about letting him in. They may not be as close as they used to be or share the same house. Nevertheless, Olyse loved his sisters and cared about them. He was content with them staying with his mother, but their shared childhood gave them memories that would always give him some calm when he was stressed at work and did not desire the company of a woman as a distraction. A reasonable decision was made. Wait for the mall to open in less than an hour, then Olyse could do something nice for his sister. They waited in a place that made breakfast close to the mall, then Olyse placed a call to his assistant at work to hold all his meetings for two hours before checking the menu for breakfast options. Carde was directed to take a seat. Though grateful for the respite of having to stand while being studied like a specimen, she rather preferred that they get to doing what they should. The earlier they conclude on styles and measurements, the faster she would elude their scrutiny. Madam Abby A sensed the increasing discomfort of her guests and, since there was no way to bluntly ask the designer questions about how professional the relationship of her son Olyse was with the designer, the good host offered them some iced tea and asked to be shown some designs. Carde and her two assistants were good designers, and Carde encouraged both Adam and Carla to create designs which they could present whenever the opportunity arose. At the time she had called both of them individually on Sunday evening, Carde made sure to ask them to bring their designs which would be shown alongside hers. Their clients were impressed by the designs and decided on two for the mother and one each for the daughters. Adam's style appealed more to Beth, who was excited to have her measurements taken even without seeing the rest of the designs. Carla was starting to take Beth's measurements when the door to the drawing room was loudly opened to reveal Olyse Anderton. All the occupants in the drawing paused at once, like the newcomer had set their activities on pause. Surprise marked every face but all for different reasons. One by one, five of the six people relaxed a bit and moved from their earlier shocked pose, leaving Carde, who was growing angry at each tick of the seconds' hand of the clock. Olyse arrived at the Bayfresh Mansion and was told that all of his family was in the drawing room. It was strange to have them there unless they had guests who were important. As the master of the house, even though Olyse lived apart, he expected his mother to inform him about such visits so that he would be present when he needed to be. Ignoring his sisters and the designers, Olyse asked to speak to his mother. Madam Abby A did not miss the angry look her son had been exchanging with the designer, who informed Madam that her name was Carde. A simple act of anger gave away the details which the mother had been hoping to get. Her son, Olyse and Carde were not only attracted to each other, they had already had something happen between them. Carde was fuming at herself for not paying attention to the things she knew. After the night they had shared, while she had been waiting for the damned man to call, she spent her time checking online what the news had on Olyse. One article she had read contained information about his family and she should have observed the relations between the names Abigail Anderton and Madam Abby A, whom Olyse's mother had introduced herself to Carde. If Olyse had his own house, why was he visiting on the same morning when she would be working in their mansion? Madam Abby A was enraged at the audacity of her son in demanding that she inform him about guests whenever she planned to invite any to Bayfresh. The angry woman spared no words as she corrected her son over his careless disrespect to infer the right to make absurd demands of expecting her as the mistress of the house to take orders from Olyse. After berating her son, Olyse's mother went upstairs to her room where she would take some minutes to resume control over her state before showing up in front of other people. Olyse was feeling ashamed of himself as he sat behind letting a brooding Fernando drive him to the office. Something about the designer ticked him off and he had let his emotions run loose and had put a strain on his relationship with his mother. There was no way he could assume that coincidence had led to the meeting between his mother and Carde. Especially after he had told his mother only a few hours ago about his new designer. He had to apologise but knowing his mother, Olyse knew that he would have to give Madam Abby A some time to let go of her anger. There was nothing that he could do about the relationship between his mother and the designer, but Olyse had to make sure that his mother did not find out about the night he spent together with Carde. Picking up his phone, Olyse dialled the number which he had already memorised. A mother must show love, patience, understanding and kindness, not only as a lesson for her children to follow, but also, to mend whatever cracks that might come up in the relationship she has built with her children. Madam Abby A has not lived an easy life since she lost her husband. Her children might not see how much she struggled, yet she lived with the ache of not having the man she loved to be by her side, loving, supporting and sharing with her. As a kind mother, she is not blind to how much the father's death had affected the pace by which her son grew or how difficult Olyse's task had been to save the company his father had inherited. Olyse was third generation and going in not prepared made the job even more challenging. Madam remembered with pain the day she had been unable to hold out against speaking up. Olyse was present in Mayfield the next morning like he had not been away at college. Madam Abby A saw how much Olyse tried to hide the struggle at the office. He returned each day looking more discouraged than the previous day. Madam found out from the company's receptionist that her late husband's stepbrother was the one who ran the company. The man wasn't even an Anderton. Hanson was related to her late husband by the same mother only. The company's board were not all in support of Hanson, though Hanson had been a part of the company for several years after he was brought in by Olyse's father. The board members against Hanson, however, did not support Olyse taking after the previous chairperson, Olyse's late father. They were against Olyse's age and experience. Gradually, Olyse worked his way to earning the position of President, thereby earning the respect of business associates and rivals. That feat would fuel a man's ego. Madam was aware and letting Olyse bring his ego back to Mayfield was unacceptable. Satisfied with her actions towards setting Olyse straight, Madam decided to join her guests. Reflecting on the designs earlier viewed, Madam was genuinely interested in the designer, no longer because of her son alone. Downstairs, both Beth and Dalia listened excitedly to their designers explaining what would be done and how it would look on them when they wore the dresses. Madam's excitement was rekindled and she joined Carde to proceed with taking measurements for her chosen dress. One was a fancy pantsuit, while she chose an excellently designed elegant ball gown. Carde and her team spent three hours in the Mayfield mansion but they all left happy, excited to begin on the designs. Olyse was currently forgotten and clients had to be satisfied. The meetings were considered to be interesting by Olyse. All the meetings that had Olyse in attendance lacked anything interesting to lift him out of his sour disposition. Olyse arrived at the office to find that his assistant had delayed in holding off his first meeting, which had him going straight into the boardroom to be confronted by faces who expected some kind of smart words from him. Olyse heard himself speaking the words he could not remember, but the majority of the people present in the boardroom either smiled or nodded in agreement. Alone, back in his office, Olyse caught himself reliving the night spent with Carde in his head. The feelings were so real, causing Olyse to have an erection so hard, his pants were strained. Working did nothing to ease the erection as it remained, not having so much strain on his pants as earlier but visible all the same. Olyse picked his phone to call Laide, a beautiful black model who was among Olyse's favorite, as the model never expected to have an exclusive relationship with Olyse. In an instant, he slammed the phone down as Olys recalled placing a call to Carde which she did not take and had not returned. The anger he felt weighed more on his pants, so that Olyse found himself dialling Laide's number with an urgency that suggested how much he really wanted to be calling Carde instead. Laide picked up the second ring, agreeing to a meeting at lunch time as she intended to abandon the work she had been doing in favor of spending time with the sweetest single billionaire. The gig was not a major gig and Laide had no reservations about abandoning them after only a few hours. The photographer was nervous about working with her. Laide was a well-known name in the business, making the small-time photographer shake a little as he took pictures of the supermodel. Laide called the shoot manager to her side where she let him know that she would only be available till lunchtime and they had to work faster to get as many pictures as possible. Whatever the shoot manager said to the photographer, Laide cared less and only appreciated the effect it had as the pace was marginally improved.
