Kestrel's POV The way to the incinerator was a messy path with woods that formed two different worlds on its own. It had ancient oaks towered overhead and their branches creates a canopy so thick that even the afternoon sun struggled to penetrate through. I adjusted the rim of my glasses and the familiar weight of them brought a small comfort as I walked quietly along the narrow dirt path, hoping to see Zeph just in time and get the hell out of here but the thought of seeing him again sent warmth flooding through my chest, even as anxiety gnawed at my stomach.
