LILAC “Where are we going?” I asked again as he drove off. I wasn’t asking out of fear but rather out of simple curiosity. “You’re not in a position to ask questions.” I turned to him. His eyes were focused on the road, but I could sense his worry.  “I understand that you’re strong and feared by many, but I came here willingly because you seem to need help. You wanted to buy me in the auction. What do you need me for?” I asked. I’ve known better now. Everyone needed the white wolf for something. There was a tinge in my chest. I’m not sure if it was my emotions or his, but reality hurts most of the time. “From now on, you’re living in my pack,” he declared, unsurprising yet leaving me with more questions. “Why?” I asked, summarizing everything I wanted to ask with one simple word.
