Ch9

I roll my eyes at him and start to reach for the wand, I know he is a strong warlock, so I know I can't hold back.

"What are you doing here?" I ask.

"Hmm? Well, since you attacked the council and my dad is on the council...they have been looking for you and I figured I could find you first before they could. You know I have always been good at finding you, Jazmine." He said while looking down at me with his big grey eyes. I looked in a different direction, trying not to get trapped in his eyes. His family specializes in hypnosis through their eyes. It's one of the first things that the kids in his family are taught at a young age. He lifts my chin up to look at him and I take a step back, pulling the wand out and pointing it at him.

"None of that mind trickery bullish*t now! I know you Manny, I know where your loyalty lies." I told him,

"No you don't Jaz, my loyalty lies with you, as it always has been since we were little and you know that, and you know that is why I'm here with you and not dragging you back to the coven, to your mom. I'm here to protect you, I am here to fight with you against the coven and get your so-called 'mate' back.." He sounded sad when he said my mate.

"How do you know he's my mate? I doubt your willing to fight your own dad much less than the coven."

"Like I said, my loyalty lies with you, you are the future of the coven and I will do anything that you ask of me..the council has Eli in the testing room. They have tortured him and are going to make you kill him and if you do not, then they plan to kill him in front of you and force you to take me as your mate.. But I don't need to force you to be my mate, you already are, you've just been fighting it ever since we were kids. You look confused, Jazmine. Remember, my family has hypnosis ability." He tells me with a look of regret.

"So what, you hypnotized me at a young age to block out the mate bond? If so, then why would you do that? What would you have to gain from that?" I asked, keeping the wand pointed at him, not letting my guard down.

"I do as I'm told by the council, by my father. But now they plan to hurt you, so I can't just stand by and let them do that, and I'm tired of hiding my feelings for you. It hurts to watch my mate fall in love with someone else that is not me. We witches can share but never let go." He took a step towards me, showing no fear, and took more steps towards me until the wand was pushed against his chest.

"But do you know why they did it? Did you know that I rejected the coven?" I asked, still keeping the wand pointed at him.

"No I do not, and yes I do, and if you do not return to the coven, then I am planning to reject them as well and follow you. There is no doubt in my mind." He tells me.

I gulp down the lump in my throat and clear my head. "Release the hypnosis..I want to know for sure before I kill you, but if you try anything then I will not hesitate to blow your ass up where you stand. Do you hear me?" I tell him, he nods his head and I slowly start to lower the wand."Look into my eyes and don't move, okay." He tells me, I nod my head. He gently puts both of his hands on each side of my head.

"Remember, break the hypnosis that has been placed on you. Remember when we were kids and we were playing in the tree house in my backyard. Remember we were playing, remember my dad coming out to us and whispering in my ear, remember what happened next, remember my words..'I am sorry Jazmine..forget about our friendship, forget our mate bond..forget my feelings about you and yours for me..forget me and keep your distance from me and the others,,but never forget how strong you are and one day we will be together again and that I will be with you when you need me most, that I will wait fo you until the time is right, please do not hate me.'..Jazmine?" I punched him in the face making him stumble back, that caught him by suprise.

I remember, I can't believe him.

"Why!" I screamed, feeling everything coming back to me, feeling my emotions go crazy inside of my head.

"Did you know about my dad?!" I screamed at him again, raising the wand again.

"No, but I have a guess from listening in on the council from time to time." He tells me.

"I have to go after Eli now before they kill him, I can't look at you right now." I put the wand back in my waist band and push past him, when I pushed past him I felt crazy shocks all over my body, nothing like I felt like with Eli but then again I haven't touched Manny in years, I guess that that's what happens when you do not make physical contact with your mate or maybe its a witch thing.

Manny grabs me by the hand and pulls me back, I turn at him with anger in my eyes.

"What is your plan exactly? March in and start waving that death trap wand around?" He asks me.

"Yup that is basically the plan. Go in guns blazzing. No dumb ass I have a plan, go through the basement and through the door that leads to the kitchen and sneak my way through the halls that leads to testing room." I shrug my shoulders.

"Yeah that seems like a decent plan. Okay lets do it, done give me that look because I can go with you or I can just follow you." He shrugs back at me.

"Or I can knock your ass out and leave you here." I roll my eyes at him.

"Oh please, you know I am the better fighter in our generation." He winks at me.

"Whatever lets go but if this is a trick then I will blow the entire building up with all of us in it." He nods his head and we walk out of my house.
