If the sun is about forty-five degrees above the horizon in the west and your shadow appears on the other side, it's three o'clock in the afternoon. Just remember that shadow is long in the morning as the sun appears east and shortest around noon. It gets longer again once the sun sets in the west.'
I smiled, looking at my shadow. It's three o'clock now. I'm unsure if this is the right time, but what he taught me was probably right.
