"The town is overrun by vampires. The council took over," I blurted out, tears welling up in my eyes as I avoided Declan's gaze. Mia turned to touch my shoulder. I looked at her, her eyes searching mine.
"I'm sorry." She pulled me in for a hug, something I did not expect. "We'll get them. We will save all of them."
"How many vampires are in the compound? Do the rest of my pack know?"
I didn't know how to say it. His pack was everything to him. My heart hurt. "Declan, it's not just the pack." His gaze narrowed. "The whole town is overrun by vampires. I saw them being rounded up in the compound. Tied down. Philip was..."
