Chapter 7: The Truth

Niklaus goes out in search for Elisa, since he's about to make the announcement to the entire public. He won't waste anymore time as he has already seen the consequences of his initial delay.

He continues the search for his bride who seems to be the center of every man's attention but doesn't seem to find her.

Darn! Why won't the damn visions pop when you need them. Why can't I just see the visions now? . That little witch dares to play a hide and seek game with me?

He calls for Vatler and tells him to instruct the guards to search the mansion.

The guests started to notice something wrong with the sudden movement of the palace guards, but no one dares to say a word or they might just be holding their last drink,so they. continue with their equally meaningful and meaningless chatter.

It's starting to get late and there's still no news of Elisa. He decides to use a location spell, so he calls in a witch.

Why didn't I think of this ?

" I need something of hers, a personal belonging would be best ". Niklaus moves quickly, heads over to their room and brings Elisa's hair brush to the witch. She takes out a knife and pricks her finger, leaving the blood to drop on the map places on the table, with scented candles surrounding it and burning incense at the side. She begins the spell . . .

" It's not working, why isn't it working? " he says through clenched teeth.

" It's not working because there's nothing to find, it's like she doesn't exist. She must be cloaked, I could try another spell. If she's cloaked the map would burn ".

" Pl . . ease. . l. .let go " he pushes her back, letting go of her neck as he watches her try to catch her breath.

" Tell me why I shouldn't kill you for you for your incompetence ".

" Because as much as you want to kill me, you also have a principle of not taking innocent lives. . . "

That to me is very much the actions of an accomplice ". he says and the woman starts moving back in fear. Niklaus just walks over to her and uses his hand, he twists her neck and it snaps. He looks at the body on the floor and walks over it, thinking of where Elisa could be.

She probably left the island . Niklaus for some reason unknown to him refused to explore the option that Elisa is dead. So he concludes that she probably left the island.

Soon, Vatler comes in an notifies him that Kristan was also missing. On hearing that, Niklaus' rage multiplied.

How could she leave him for the weak bastard.

He immediately sends out, a team of assassins to pin down their location and bring them to him.

He's mind keeps on drifting to why Elisa would leave him behind and go away with some stranger. He still trying to figure out why he's overthinking, literally everyone in his life had betrayed him except Vatler.

He goes over to his private room to have a drink.

Kristan and Elisa have finally arrived on the mainland, they aren't with much money so they lodge in one bedroom at a hotel.

They packed at the early hours of the morning, so they rest a bit before u packing and getting ready for breakfast.

" So what now ", she finally asks

" Hey, Elisa I know this is a new environment but you'll get use to it, okay "

" So . . . Umm why did you bring me along. I can't seem to find a reason why. I lied to you, I'm the reason, Niklaus is on your tail in the first place, so why let me tag along "

" I don't Elisa, it's because I have . . . Umm . . . I have feeli . . . . " They star hearing loud sounds from downstairs. Kristan stares out the window.

" Oh my goodness, they're here early. . . ", he says confusion evident in his eyes. Droplets of sweat begins to run down his features.

" Who's here early ? ", she asks confused.

" Elisa you have to get out of here now, I don't think I can do this ", he yells

" Do what, Kristan, talk to me ! " she shouts back, seekings answers to all her unanswered questions.

" Why ? "

" So I don't have to sell you off " , the moment he stays it, he's full of regret. But he decides she deserved to know the truth.

" What ? . . . I . . I don't understand "

" Your Father told me if I was able to bring you out here, that he was gonna pay me handsomely. I am so sorry, Elisa, I didn't mean to. At first, I wanted to do it, but now . . . . Now that I've gotten to know you and care about you, I can't let them have you. I don't know your reason for running but you must have a good one, so right now you need to get out if here " , Elisa is speechless, she can't seem to process all she was just told. She stares at him until her eyes get blurry and tears begin to flow.

He tries to wipe them away but she slaps his hand away.

" No ! Don't say that to me. I trusted you over Niklaus, guess I know now who the actual monster is "

" No ! Elisa don't compare me to him "

" What's the difference ? Huh ? Tell me ! ! " She shouts.

" I can't talk right now, Elisa, you have to leave "

She remembers that she's supposed to run. She would have used magic to stop time but she was feeling weak and magic drains her energy even more. She runs out the back stairways and out of the hotel. She continues to run , run and run. Her body starts feeling weak, her head spinning, her legs wobbly. She can no longer see probably, the view blurry and she can't tell if it's from the crying or the weakness.Before she could realize what's going on, she blacks out.
