seven From the minute Evie walked into his hotel suite the next afternoon, Oak was ready for her to leave. It felt so fake. She sat there laughing and joking with his staff, people he trusted and cared about. People she had no respect for. He didn’t get it. After what they’d said to each other in the dining room last night, how could she just sit there today like nothing had happened?
