Chapter 8 - Preparations

4324 Words
Vira’s Narrative While Freddie was gone, I was able to make the dress that we discussed. I copied and prepared two patterns for new dresses I was already going to make. But now I will be sewing them together when I arrive at the cottage. Adding my favorite patterns with the store boughten dress from Battle Creek to pad the breakables I wasn’t going to leave behind. The fine jewelry from my family gave me from the past he wouldn’t even notice missing. Not like he let me wear them anyways, only things he purchased or the one necklace I was able to get from a yard sale. Originally I was going to stretch them out over a few days at least to make the loads lighter and less noticeable. But he isn’t here right now and that makes it perfect timing. With the shopping bags from Doris I could easily make it so she would look like a lady that was having a break from shopping. Luckily in Arlington I found a bible that looked similar enough to mine. I had a heck of a time ageing it, but I was successful that the untrained eye wouldn’t be able to tell which is which. I even put the marker in the exact placement I was at in the old bible. Packing the original in which my escape packages. Including the other items which we discussed. I was able to get the bags over to Doris before the men folk arrived back home. I had dinner done and set by the time Freddie came in the door. Not saying a word to him, just served him took his things to take care of them. He must have been exhausted after dinner, he left the dishes in the living room, with no words to me. Taken a bath and then off to his bed. I gave a sigh of relief knowing that at least for now I will not have to do deal with him for the rest of the night. I would be able to get the nightly chores done before turning in for the night myself. As usual I was up before Freddie, I cooked his breakfast, brewed the coffee as I packed his lunch and filled his thermos once the coffee was finished. Starting another pot for myself. The smell coming for the kitchen Freddie sleepily stumbled to get ready for his workday. He was oblivious to my plans, a week passed before I had pissed him off again. A scrap of fabric attached to my shoe came off in the hallway. I paid for it before he even ate his Friday’s breakfast which he also took the delay out on me. He actually made the effort to pick it up from the ground to rub it into my face as he grabbed me by the collar of my dress. Forcing the scrap into my mouth, followed by back hand across my face when he drew back his hand he made sure make hard contact with my cheek with his palm. When that became boring for him he began tossing me around like a rag doll into walls and to the floor. While on the floor he kneeled down to punch whatever body part he could get a clear shot of. Pulling me back to my feet tearing my green dress to shreds as he did. The last push was into the arch way between the rooms, my back taking the brunt of the blow. He left me there on the floor, I curled up into a ball pulling on my now tattered dress as tight as possible to cover myself. Crying silently as he shoveled his meal into his mouth. I could feel his eyes upon me with each bit he took, I tried to disappear on the spot making myself smaller and covering my face. Like a child playing peak a boo with no joy, only the hope that if I can’t see them, they can’t see me. It took only his dominance over me to excite him, looking at the clock on the wall he noticed he still had some time for another insult. He grabbed me by the back of my neck pulling me up to my feet. Pushing me over to the table, swiping the dishes off the table with his arm. Breaking the plates and glassware I used for his breakfast. Quickly slamming me down face first to the table. Forcing my body to be bent over the table with his other hand ripped the back of what was left of my dress and underwear. Shoving his harden d**k into my body , thrusting it in and out he f****d me fiercely. I whimpered at the pain holding my screams inside, the obvious pain caused his pleasure to rise even more. After he finished, he let me finally fall to the floor. My body hit the table and a nearby chair with my limp body on the way down. Getting himself back together and grabbing his lunch I prepared. He spat at me “Maybe that seed will stick, and you will serve your purpose and give me the son I demand.” He paused for a moment “This house better be spotless when I get home!” slamming the door behind him. I believe he thought I enjoyed that sort of thing, but contrary to his belief a woman’s v****a will produce moisture to that action in general. It does not mean in any way that we had an orgasm much less enjoyed it. As soon as I heard that Model A fire up, booging down the road way. I drag myself to my feet, stumbling down to the bathroom where I keep my personal things. The racket coming from the house must have caught Tom’s attention. As Doris found me taking my remedies, if I could help it Freddie would not get his wish through me. I don’t ever want to bare his wicked seed. Any child that would be brought up around him would be cursed to either be just like him or his victim right along with its mother. I heard Doris call for Tom, and soon after I was covered up in my coat and in their car on the way to Dr. Jenkins. ------- Doris’s Narrative The scene inside that kitchen resembled a horror film or a crime scene before the police arrived. Amongst the broken glass and plates was blood splatter. A fear came over me, what if she is dead only a soulless body left behind. Rushing to the only room I could think she would go after a moment like that. Calling for Tom, he wasted no time getting to the room. Setting there while Dr. Jenkins was recording everything was nerve racking. Yet Vira was strong I could see the tears streaming down her cheeks. But she held steadfast in even this the embarrassment of the aftermath. I don’t know how she does it, I swear I would’ve been crumbling into a pile of non-identifiable mush. On the ride back Tom was the first to ask, “Vira would you like if we took you to your friend, Arthur, is it?” “No not yet. Freddie would know that I ran not seem like I just disappeared.” “Vira what if there isn’t another chance for you to escape?” I asked with tears briming up even in my voice. “It will be fine, whenever Freddie does it this bad, he normally lets me heal at least for a while. But I won’t be able to help with the Halloween church lunch this weekend.” “Really that is the first thing that comes to your mind?” Tom interludes “Damn woman you are tougher than nails aren’t you?” “I try.” We laughed at this particular moment we needed that. There was nothing funny about this morning. “Vira are you sure, I have no problem taking more time off today to make sure you are safe.” “No Tom, I appreciate everything you and Doris have done for me and what I am sure you will be doing.” When we pulled back up, I helped Vira back into the house. Not long after I could hear her start the bath water before she went on to lay down for a little bit. ------ Vira’s Narrative Doris started to clean the house as I deep cleaned my body in scalding hot water. That night Doris cooked two dinners to help me, everything was set. Doris took the green dress and put it away for evidence if needed. There was no sign of Doris or the earlier disturbance upon Freddie’s arrival. Dinner was already served and still hot. To Freddie it appeared I had already eaten and was doing after dinner cleaning. I wasted no time collecting the dishes after he finished then disappeared into the kitchen out of his sight. It wasn’t anything new, I often became a recluse after a firm beating. In truth firm would be his word to describe it, to others brutalized horror would be a better description. He didn’t even look at me before going off to bed, probably because of a little additional ingredient I added to his meal. He would live but the doctor gave me some sleeping remedies so I could sleep through the pain. I decided however, the best sleep I could get is if Freddie would sleep sooner than later. The next morning, I did everything as quickly and quietly as possible. Making myself scarce before his entry into the kitchen. Knowing I was doing housework seemed good enough for him, maybe a bit dull. He must have decided not to disrupt me, just grabbed his things. He told me he was leaving loudly before going to work. Every day Doris would come over and help me clean, when she thought I did enough in my condition she would make me sit down while she continued. For the days that Doris went to the sewing club it was just me. This went on for two weeks. I did not attend any ladies’ socials or church services. Doris would cover for me there as well saying that I was too ill to attend. The extra time from missing these events left my mind to drift, trying to keep a low profile. The pains just kept reminding me that my life was not always like this. I used to have an inner strength that if I needed to fight back, would. But now look at me destroyed not just in body and mind but also in spirit. Why did I listen to him when it first started, the threats he said he would do came to mind in a flash. Nothing in my childhood would even prepare her for this. No one in the family’s circle showed signs of abuse in any of their relationships. Only hearing about it from the outside world and the theories of the ladies in mother’s gatherings. None of their “If I was in that position” or “Just leave, and What ifs” would fit this or would have worked. I know I have tried all their suggestions including some of my own to escape this hell. But none of them worked, I ran he found me, I went to the police they did nothing even some believing his story how much of a klutz I was. In a way I even doubted this plan as it was just running away again. But this time I had help, money to pay for the journey and help on the other side so there was a sliver of hope. Maybe I will see myself again in the mirror. Returning or at least some semblance of who I once was. The fisty go getter who enjoyed life especially outside, oh how I missed the smell of lilacs while reading poetry and stories of love and adventure. Having tea with mother on the porch, going for walks with father. Even missed the chickens who used to chase after my skirts when I was a child. And my beloved dog I used to have when I was a little girl, oh my that was one of the top things I missed. That dog went everywhere I went, even when I went horseback riding out on the farm. Playing fetch in the yard used to give it so much joy. I am sure the dog is no longer alive, and I am grateful that the dog stayed with my parents. Knowing Freddie, killing that dog would have been her first lesson. But now was the time to think positively, instead of sulking around. The thought of being myself and free reignited a tiny spark of hope. I also hoped I might reignite another flame if I could ever bring myself to fully trust another man. Deep down I know I still loved Arthur, that did not stop for me. Arthur, I knew to be concerned about me, what I did not know is if he was with another or even if he still loved me in return. ------ Freddie’s Narrative The only thing bad about coming back from a boys’ weekend is coming home to Vira. I am not in the mood to hear her god damn voice let alone set eyes on the worthless b***h. I was tired and only wanted to eat and sleep after a bath. I was pleasantly surprised when I got everything I had hoped for. In the morning she had breakfast ready including my work lunch. She was already cleaning, deciding that was pretty harmless I went about my day. Yelling out that I was leaving for work. At night she was just the same dinner pipping hot ready for me to eat and she was already cleaning. I loved it that she was making herself useful for once but it was becoming dreadfully boring after a week of it. It was more like having a live-in maid and not a wife. I was beginning to wonder what she might be up to, but Vira was too stupid for any real scamming. And she knew better than to create a scandal or try to run off again. Then she would end up right into an actual asylum not the cushiony deal she had last time. Nope this time it would be a real hell hole including the rats. It was probably more simple, she found some of her old medicine or the doctor put her on another one. Keeping her productive but behaved. I counted it as a blessing in reality, one thing I didn’t have to worry about in a couple of weeks I would be on my way to Chicago. It was that Friday that she finally did something punishable. A piece of fabric from her sewing made it out of the hall way, most men would have picked it up and just thrown it away. But this is my house and that b***h needs to keep it spotless. I grabbed her an shoved it into her face until I was able to get it in her f*****g mouth. Throwing her around like she was nothing at all, I admit I was getting turned on by it all. I could hear her heavy breathing, even with her balled up like that on the floor. I looked to the clock thinking I would not have the time for some pleasure, I was wrong I probably did especially without all that useless foreplay. Slamming down the fork in my hand, abruptly pushing the chair with the back of my knees. It crashed against the wall before, going straight over to her grabbing her by the nap of her neck. Forcing her over to the table, with one swipe of my arm I cleared the table before bending her over. Tearing what was left of her dress to give me better access to the sweet spot, I have been desiring to plunder. Hot damn the sounds she was making drove me over the line. I knew she probably enjoyed it just as much as I did. Pumping into her repeatedly, spilling everything I had into her I was sure that this time we might be having a wee one following nine months later. But I could not let her know that she just gave me so much pleasure for once. I kept the act up that I was mad, I was a little bit but it was tempting to take the afternoon off and rush her up to the room and take her all over again. Doing so until she couldn’t walk straight. Letting her fall to the ground she hit both the table and chair with her limp body. Before I left, I gave her orders to get the house clean. And all day long I had her on my mind, I wanted more. Once home my dinner was done and set, she was already cleaning up. She hid out for the most part, I started to doze off in my chair. Like all of a sudden, I became very tired, I wanted to f**k her again, but I had no ambition to drag her up the stairs for play5 time. But I could barely pull myself up there, I didn’t say a word to Vira on my way up. I face planted myself onto the bed and was asleep before I knew it. The next morning, I felt well rested for the day, Vira was like a recluse, breakfast was on the table, everything was ready for my Saturday routine. But Vira was nowhere to be seen, I could hear her buzzing about the house doing something, I am sure. “Vira?” It took a little bit, but she finally answered me. “Right here Freddie.” She popped her head out of the sewing room “I am sorry, the mother down the street put in an order for five matching dresses all in different sizes for her grandchildren. She wants them done as soon as possible.” It was believable, quite a few people asked her to do sewing projects for them. I thought it was a stupid hobby, but it keeps her out of my hair while I listen to the sports show on the radio. “Alright then, you better have lunch on the table in time.” “I will.” She closed the door and the humming from the sewing machine started in a matter of seconds. I shrugged my shoulders and went back into the kitchen to eat my breakfast. I peaked into the ice box to see if she made the fight goodies she normally does, to no surprise there they were all neatly placed on platters for me. With Vira in her hide away I decided I would go over and ask Tom and Doris to come over for the fight. I had a good thirty minutes before it started broadcasting so I went over to the sewing room door and knocked. The humming stopped and soon she opened the door. “Vira would you mind if I invited Tom and Doris over?” “No. I don’t mind.” “Could you fix yourself up please.” She nodded and headed to the washroom to put some paste on or whatever she used to hide her face. “Alright Hun, I will be back I am going over there to ask right now.” “Alright Freddie I will be ready by then, I am sure.” As I walked over to Tom and Doris’s I couldn’t help but look back at the house multiple times. Vira had barricaded herself away from the world. It wasn’t to unnormal about her doing this but with all the food she prepared it seemed for more than just us expected. All day long I have barely seen my wife for the exception of her serving me my meals and such. Normally I love it when she is silent and obedient, but within sight at least. Truth be told I was bored to death. Even though I doubted she would agree with the way her face was. She knew not to argue with me after all she also knew she would be punished for it. A shocked Tom answered the door after I knocked “Would you and Doris like to join us for the fight being broadcast today? Vira made a lot of goodies, too much for just two people.” Tom looked back towards Doris who had an equally shocked look. It didn’t surprise me we normally didn’t invite anyone over. Tom then turned his attention back to me so to answer, “We will be right over.” “Alright see you in a little bit.” I said before I turned to go back to my own home. When I walked in the door she already had the goodies out for the free for all set nicely on the dining room table. She was dressed in one of her nicest blue dresses that brought out the color in her eyes. And she did really well on her makeup as the bruises and cuts seemed pretty hidden enough that it might go unnoticed but at least I got her out of the room. I know she probably thought I went too far yesterday, but she did leave that god damn scrap on the floor. Vira could be the perfect wife, when she is being obedient that is. She is a beautiful woman, too smart but a f**k up. There are times I think I have her tame but others I can still see a shimmer of spark in her eyes yet. Often, she reminds me of a dog you think has been broken until the moment it snaps back at you. Right now, seems like one of those moments. Maybe this would be a good thing to have them over, at least to lighten the atmosphere in this house. I looked out of the window as they were coming up with full arms. Lunch would be buffet style and possibly dinner also. While Tom and I gathered around the radio after filling our plates, listening in on the highlights of the up coming fight. The ladies were out in the kitchen playing cards and chatting. Vira and Doris were prompt on keeping the coffee and tea pitcher full and ready for refills. If was one hell of a fight, wishing that this was the weekend I was going to Chicago to see this one live. But looking around this wasn’t bad I was having a great time, and it looked like Vira was too. Once the fight was over, we left the radio on so it could play music and whatever radio show would come on next. We waved the ladies over into the dining room for a game. Keeping the goodies on the table to munch on, dinner was also taken care of. Tom and Doris stayed well after the sun went down, I am not sure what time it was when the ladies started to clean up. Before they left the whole table was cleared off, leaving nothing for Vira to take care of after their departure. It was a great day overall; I was pretty tired and dozed off in my chair. Vira must have gone to take a bath and off to bed before I woke up with a blanket, I did not have draped over me. Because when I looked in on her she was already in her sewing room covered up on that bent twin she purchased over the men’s weekend. Satisfied with my findings, I headed up to my own bed for a good night's sleep. Vira’s Narrative I will have to admit I had a good time today, while the men listened to the fight Doris and I quietly play cards and talked about the escape in whispers. There was no way the men would hear us with all of their whooping and hollering. Lunch and dinner were very convenient with all the goodies that Doris and I made and even the clean up was easier with Doris to help. I told her she didn’t have to help clean up but Doris insisted. Freddie was already dozing off before Tom and Doris left for the night. Not that he noticed, he was aware when they actually left. After the goodbyes, Freddie went into his chair and cup of coffee. Turning off the radio moving onto the evening paper, I could hear him snoring from the sewing room. Going out to check on him I decided to just cover him with a blanket and leave him be. Next, I took advantage of the safety and silence of his slumber by taking a hot bath and crawled into bed. The next morning was like any other Sunday I was up with breakfast ready and waiting. Dressed in my Sunday best, I noticed that at some point Freddie must have moved upstairs. He was in a good disposition coming down to eat, Tom and Doris again offered us a ride over to the church. For lunch they invited us over for a meal. It was nice, I know they were trying to look out for me especially with Freddie’s odd behavior. He never invited anyone over to spend time inside the house and he was being cordial towards me all day yesterday and even so far today. This weekend has been the most normal weekend that we have ever shared together. But I am not going to let my guard down, I truthfully hoped that the rest of my time here would be peaceful.
