“I’m Detective Mark Danville from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police’s Assault Division interviewing Jenna Christine Ballou, represented by Kirsten Pasternak, counsel. Do you know why you’re here this morning?”
“You tell us, detective,” Kirsten answered before I could. “You put an unconscious woman in a holding cell?”
“Ms. Ballou was fully conscious when we brought her in and talking up a storm, saying things like, ‘He had it coming,’ repeatedly. She was intoxicated, but we figured she’d sleep it off once we put her in the cell.”
“What’s the deal, detective. Why are we here?” I asked.
“Jenna Ballou, you are being charged with assaulting Gerard Boyce. You broke multiple bones in his wrist.”
“Before we go any further, my client requests her blood be screened for narcotics that Mr. Boy
