Like a Phoenix

Monday's

Stepping out of bed, I put on my pajamas and slipped into my slippers. I go to the living room to turn the heat on. After I rush into the bathroom, I take a shower and brush my teeth. After I put on my emerald green 3-piece business suit on, I did my 6-step morning skincare routine, and after I finished off with my make-up for today.

Rushing out of the house, I dropped by the local supermarket to get a BLT sandwich and rushed to get to my metro. I just moved to Venice, Italy from Valencia, Spain. Got the job of a lifetime. Not only will I be running one of the hotels of the Valentino Garden hotelchain, I will be running both locations located in Venice.

I started two weeks ago, and when I tell you this was a much-needed change, I mean it. Listening to music on the metro, I take a look at my itinerary. I'm meeting up with the head chef today to see what we can do to spice up the menu. I guess I will be headed to the Palazzo Ducale location today. The other location are close to each other, the Basilica de Santa Maria location is only 10 minutes away. After thirty minutes, I step of the metro and run to catch a gondola.

Five minutes later, I arrived in front of the hotel. I'm still can't believe I get to run this. The Palazzo Ducale location is my favorite. The hotel is as beautiful as the Palace Palazzo Ducale, which is right in front of the hotel. The style is the same. It has a beautiful Gothic style with a baroque structure which gives a real renaissance feel.

As I walked through the French doors I was greeted by the concierge and the front desk employees as I walked past reception towards my office. My office is quite extravagant and has a huge Palladian window. The last general manager had excellent taste. There was a beautiful walnut bookcase which covered the whole left wall. I put my briefcase down and sit behind my walnut desk. As Iturn my computer on, I notice some papers on my desk that need signing. I sign them and then I get on my computer to answer some e-mails. As I look at the clock I see that more than an hour has passed. I grabbed the papers I signed and started walking towards the concierge. I gave him the papers I signed and asked him to bring them to the right departments.

As I walked past the piano room, I got greeted by the staff getting the room ready for the day. It has a lounge area, bar and live music at night. I love this room at night, it has such an amazing atmosphere. The buffet restaurant is located on the first floor. The hotel has 2 other restaurants. On the third floor is where breakfast is served, and on the 8th and last floor it has the à la carte restaurant with panorama view.
