Chapter 6

“Traveling is the best thing any couple can do. That’s how we had the idea of the honeymoon. Newly wed couples going to a new place on their own so that all they could have is each other.” -Salil Jha

A honeymoon is a short period of doting between dating and debating. Traveling together embarks on a journey of discovering not only the world but also your partner. The time when you are 24/7 together, you get to know him/her much better and if you decide you can grow not only individually but also as a couple. The decision is always on your side. In life, it’s not where you go, it’s who you travel with.

Manik and Nandini’s first destination was Positano, Italy. It is also known as Fairy tale land.

They were in the flight. Nandini had slept keeping her head on Manik’s shoulder. While Manik was admiring the beauty beside him. It’s the first time they are traveling together alone. Last time they had gone for their school trip together but they had their the whole school along with them. This time it's only them with each other.

It's gonna be a total different experience.....

“Nandini…” Manik called out her name softly as he heard the announcement of the plane landing even though he didn't had the heart to wake her up.

She moved a little in her sleep but didn’t get up. She was looking damn adorable that Manik didn’t feel like calling her once again but it was needed. So, he kept his thoughts aside for a while.

This time he caressed her hair softly. “Nandini, sunshine, wake up.” He mumbled softly near her ear caressing her face.

Nandini frowned and she slowly opened her eyes. Her eyes directly met with Manik’s who was staring her lovingly. It removed the frown from her face and she passed a smile to him. “Good morning, Manik.” 

Manik wanted to burst out in laughter seeing her adorable face but he somehow controlled himself. “It’s not morning, sunshine.” He pulled her cheeks softly.

Nandini’s frowns deepened and she settled on her seat properly. It took her a few moments to realize where they were. “Have we reached?” She asked looking out of the window as she realized where were they. Her face was totally pressed with glass when she was eyeing the passing clouds. She was looking the cutest like that.

Manik went all aww on her cuteness once again. “We will in a few minutes. Now sit properly and wear your seat belt.”

Nandini turned towards him and nodded her head. 

About another hour later, Manik and Nandini were found to be stepping out of the airport. Manik was holding Nandini’s hand tightly in his grip while Nandini didn’t leave his sight even for once. When they came out, one person was already there waiting for them with the placard of their name. They went with him.

“Hello, Mr and Mrs Malhotra. I am David. Your guide for the next 2 days. Welcome to Positano. I hope you will enjoy your trip here.” He said in a formal tone and forwarded his hand for a shake.

Manik forwarded his hand as well and they passed a smile to each other. Then David guided them till the car.

“How long will it take to reach the hotel? Is it nearby?” Manik asked.

“It will take around half an hour, sir.” David said, looking at the time.

Manik mouthed an okay and turned towards Nandini who was admiring the beauty of outside. She has been really excited for the trip and he is happy seeing her enjoying already.

Nandini was looking out through the window of the car. “Manik, see, it’s so beautiful out here.” She was admiring the outside and her eyes were shining.

“Yes, baby. Are you liking it?” Manik asked, taking her in a side hug.

Nandini nodded her head. “I am loving it. Also you are here with me so everything has to be perfect.” She snuggled into Manik’s warmth. 

“We have reached.” David announced as the car pulled in the driveway.

Manik and Nandini got down from the car. Manik wrapped his hand around Nandini’s shoulder and walked inside behind David. 

“Would you like to go somewhere today or would you like to be in hotel only?” David asked politely.

Manik looked at Nandini for her response. “Let’s not go out today. It’s already evening and I am tired too.” 

He agreed to Nandini. “We will be in hotel for today. You can come next morning and then we can see where to go.”

David nodded his head and left from there after wishing them good night.

Manik completed the procedure of checking in while Nandini waited in the lounge. He came there after completing all the formalities.

“Baby, let’s go.” Manik said forwarding his for her to hold.

Nandini smiled and placed her hand on his. 

A boy led them to their room. “Your luggage is already in the room. You can call in the reception, if you need anything. Have a nice stay, sir & mam.” Then he left.

As Manik and Nandini stepped in, Nandini was overwhelmed with the decorations as well as with the interiors of the room. It was cozy and romantic. We can call it a perfect suit for couples.

Nandini walked inside and looked around. She was looking at everything in awe. Manik noticed her expression and a smile formed on his lips seeing his love so content. He closed the door behind and moved near Nandini.

Manik stopped behind Nandini and sneaked his hands around her waist from behind. She also snuggled into his arms. 

“Did you like it, princess?” Manik whispered in Nandini’s ear, still holding her from behind.

Nandini turned her face back a little. Now she could see Manik’s face who was staring at her intensely. Happiness was gleaming on her face. “I love it, hero. It’s so beautiful. I never knew they would plan so much.” She couldn't hide the excitement in her voice.

Manik smiled at hearing her. “I am also surprised.” He was nuzzling his face in her neck. Nandini closed her eyes tightly clutching his hands on her belly. 

“Manik…” Nandini moaned.

In response, Manik just hummed, still busy with his work.

“I think…..” She couldn’t complete his words before that only Manik placed a wet kiss on the side of her neck making her words stuck in her throat.

“You think? You think, what, sunshine?” Manik asked huskily.

Words failed to come out from her vocal chord. She stood there quietly in his mercy. It was getting difficult for Nandini to bear Manik’s sweet tortures. She tried to get away from his grip but she couldn’t.

“Say something, sunshine?” Manik asked once again in the same tone nibbling her ears.

Gathering all the strength in her, Nandini turned Manik and looked into his eyes. “I think we should call our families. They must be getting worried for us. We didn’t inform them after reaching here.” She uttered softly.

Manik looked at her in disbelief but he was also feeling proud for the girl in his arms who could think of their families in this position too. He placed a peck on her forehead making Nandini confused. She was not expecting it. She looked at him as if asking what?

Manik smiled sweetly looking at her. “You are precious, princess. I love you.” Then he pulled her in a bear hug.

Nandini too smiled and didn’t mind hugging him back. "I love you too."

“You call everyone till then I will just go and have a shower.” Manik said while pulling back from the hug.

Nandini nodded.

Manik took out his change and walked inside the washroom. Nandini also got busy calling everyone. At first, she called Sarita and talked to her and Tridha for a while. Then she informed Maya too. 

Nandini was talking to Akash when Manik came out from the washroom and found her talking on the phone leaning to the railing of the terrace. Manik smiled seeing her all lost. Throwing the towel away, he paced near her. 

Manik stopped just behind Nandini that his bare front was touching her back. His hot breath was falling on her neck. As his hands slid under her top to her bare waist, Nandini’s breath hitched in her throat.

“Ye… Yeah…” Nandini shuddered with her words. 

Manik smirked seeing her condition. 

“Man… Manik…. He… Is…. Her…. Here only.” Nandini fumbled with every word she spoke.

“Nothing… I’m fine.” She stopped and gulped down her saliva to control her heavy breath. Manik’s hand was still drawing circles under her top. “Yeah… Talk to him.” Nandini said and handed over the phone to Manik and sighed in relief.

“Wait and watch. I will surely take revenge for this teasing.” Nandini spoke under her breath making sure it was only audible to Manik.

Manik winked at her. “I am waiting.” 

Nandini threw a look to him and walked inside. Manik got busy talking to Akash. Nandini was taking out her change when a naughty idea struck her mind. She gave a devilish look towards Manik but he didn’t see it.

Around half an hour later, Nandini came out of the washroom wearing a bathrobe which covered her completely. Manik was sitting on the bed with his eyes closed. Nandini kept her towel aside and went beside him. She placed her palm on his forehead. 

Feeling the soft touch on him, Manik opened his eyes and his gaze directly met with Nandini’s. He passed a soft smile to her. 

“Are you okay?” Nandini asked looking at him in concern. 

Manik pulled her holding her hand and made her sit on his lap. “I am okay.” He caressed her cheeks lovingly and kissed on her palm. They were still looking into each other’s eyes.

Nandini nodded her head. She too wrapped her hands around his neck. Manik moved her wet hair away from her face. He tucked them behind her ears. 

“Aren’t you hungry?” 

Manik nodded. “I will call the room service and order. I don't want to go out now.” 

“Okay.” Nandini agreed. 

Manik took the receiver from the bedside table and pressed the number. Nandini was about to get up and Manik didn’t let her. He was still holding her by the waist tightly. 

“Manik? What are you doing? Let me go.” Nandini said eyeing him.

“Nope. I am not letting you go ever.” He said and dived his face in her wet hairs.

As the call got received from the other side, Manik talked while still being in the same position. Nandini gave him a disbelieving look.

“See… It was easy.” Manik spoke after keeping the call.

“Yeah….” Nandini made a bad face.

Manik chuckled looking at her.

He yanked her close to him holding her shoulder. Nandini’s face was just a few inches away from Manik’s. His one hand found his way to her cheek while the other hand was still placed on her waist. Nandini’s hands were on his shoulder.

“Someone was saying she will take revenge on me. Is that plan still on?” Manik asked huskily. He blew air on her face making her close her eyes in sensation.

Nandini’s grip tightened on his shoulder. Her lips were shivering. Manik’s hand moved from her cheek to her lips. He traced her lower lips with his thumb. Her eyes were still shut.

“Open your eyes, sunshine. Look at me.” Manik whispered over her lips.

Nandini slowly opened her eyes and looked into Manik’s brown orbs. Their eyes were locked with each other.

“You didn’t reply to my question.” Manik’s lips traced on her cheek.

Nandini stared at him with a questioning look. 

Manik noticed her face. He wanted to pull her cheeks badly. She looked that cute with that expression on her face. But for the time being, he let that urge go. “About your plan of taking revenge.” He uttered with a smirk on his face.

Now Nandini too threw a smirk at him. Manik was amazed with her look.

“You will get to know that soon.” Nandini winked at him. 

Manik was about to say something but before that only the doorbell rang. 

“He seems to have become a part of my life and I’m disappointed if I don’t see him. If I get to the end of the day without seeing someone who reminds me of him, I feel as if a dull shadow has fallen over me.” -Dorothy Koomson
