Chapter 2 - New Bully

1271 Words
Rose: “Excuse me, that’s my seat,” I say as I march up to meet Mason and the group of guys surrounding him. Mason has dropped my schoolbag on the ground, and he occupies my seat like he doesn’t see the other empty seats. Penelope nudges my right arm as she leans next to my ear and says, “Let him sit, Rose. He is a new student.” “No!” I shout, my anger doubling. Charles Dominic, the Beta’s son, who has asked me for a relationship since I joined this West Hills Academy two years ago, steps forward and shoves me back. “Have a little respect for Alpha Mason!” he growls, his wolf surfacing, and I glare at him. “This is my seat. Why must he sit here?” I ask, trying to stand my ground. Mason doesn’t act like he sees me. Or like he hears me speaking to him. He relaxes further, resting his broad back against my chair and crossing his legs over the desk as he continues speaking to the other guy in front of him. Who does he think he is, joining our academy and bullying me? Before I step forward to drag Mason away from my seat—even though I know I am going to get punished—getting punished is worth fighting for my rights. “Rose, what’s wrong with you? You should be happy that Alpha Mason chooses to sit on your dirty chair,” Linda says as she walks up to meet me with her two minions, Zara and Jane. “Yes, Rose. Don’t act like you don’t know who Alpha Mason is. You’re so rude, and you should get expelled soon. Wolfless bìtch,” Zara mocks me. Indeed, I have no wolf like them, but that doesn’t make me any less of a human. “And that ugly birthmark on her face. She is so gross! Puke!” Jane mocks me, and my anger flares. “Shut up, you sluts and shameless bìtches. I am not leaving my seat. Let Mason go to you girls; I don’t give a fụck!” I shout, and this time Mason rises to his feet, and I stagger back as he turns to me. His dark eyes glow with rage at my comments of not giving a fụck about him. “Apologize for your comments, Rose!” Linda shouts before Mason can say a word. “I . . . won’t!” I say stubbornly as I meet her gaze. “You bìtch!” Linda steps forward to slap me, but Mason catches her hand before I can feel the impact. “It’s my first day here, beautiful. You don’t have to lay your pretty hand on her ugly face,” he says, his tone softer and angelic, and my tummy churns violently with disgust as his words disgust me. “Aww. Thank you, Mason. Can you come over to my seat? I will gladly offer my seat to you,” Linda says, her eyes twinkling with desire, but Mason waves her off. “No. I chose to sit here. Let me see her drag me away.” Mason smirks and sits back in my chair as I think he wants to go with Linda. I won’t even care if he is fụcking her by the way. “Go on, Rose. You were so sharp-tongued before. Go on and lay your filthy hand on Alpha Mason,” Linda shouts at me, her eyes shooting daggers at me, and my fist clenches. I can feel my nails digging into my palms as everyone looks at me like I am disgusting. I have come to this academy only to focus on my studies, but things don’t seem the way they are. My mother is a single mother and also a janitor at Edward Group, which I know Mason’s dad owns. If I escalate things further, I am prone to cause more harm for my mother. After all, she is a single mother after my father rejected her and got mated to another woman—a beta wolf. Zara is my stepsister, but she chooses to be friends with Linda and joins her in bullying me. After all, I am not as tough as her. My mother is from lower-rank families, an omega, even as my father is from a beta rank. Zara is a beta by birth; she is strong and fair-skinned. Her face is smoother than mine, and her skin is more pampered. Good. She doesn’t lack anything. I don’t care anyway. I believe once I graduate, I can secure a good job to take care of me and my mother. Or even get our visa and leave this pack. “What’s going on here?” Professor Easton Donald steps into the class. He wears black trousers and a white shirt. He is tall; his brown eyes sharpen as they settle on me before he shifts his gaze to Mason. “Alpha Mason. You are here with us.” “Yes, Prof. My dad insists,” Mason replies casually. His legs still cross over my desk, and Professor Easton swallows hard. Goddess! Couldn’t Professor tell Mason to drop his legs down and act like a student? I am sure this is why he got expelled from his old academy. “Alright. You are welcome. We are having a class today; I hope you came with your book?” Professor Easton asks nervously. Even though he is above thirty-five years old, he is afraid of Mason. “Sure. I did.” Mason pulls his bag of Penelope seat, and Professor Easton shifts his gaze to everyone. “Why are you all standing? Move back to your seats. And you, Rose, why are you standing here? Are you pestering Mason?” Professor Easton glares at me when his eyes lock with mine. “No. He is sitting on my seat.” I point at Mason, who casually brings out his books from his bag and sets them on the desk. “Then find another seat! When did you become so stubborn!” Professor Easton shouts at me, and I lower my head. “Come on, Rose. There are other seats at the back. Let’s go.” Penelope quickly rushes to pick her bag from the next chair beside Mason as she won’t dare to sit close to him. He is a bully too. Quickly she grasps my arm and drags me away as she helps me pick up my schoolbag from the floor. “Don’t take it to heart, Rose. I think Mason knows that you don’t like him, and that’s why he chose to look for your trouble,” Penelope whispers to me when I follow her to sit in the back seat. I’m not that tall, so I prefer to sit in the front, where I can see the board and what the professor is teaching. Penelope and I find a seat at the back of the class, and I can barely hear what Professor Easton is teaching on the board. My heart aches. Why haven’t I found my wolf? Why am I born with a scar on my right face? My mother says that the pack priestess told her that I am a gifted child, and the scar, which stretches from my forehead to my right eye, will fade away when I find my true mate. But I don’t have a wolf. How will I find my true mate? I swallow my sob and sit, lost in my chair, as I wait for the class to end.
