The bell above the entrance door danced as I walked through, announcing my arrival and completely giving me away to the girls I’d planned to sneak up to.
“Hey Jade!” Lyra, the beauty parlor’s owner and a very busty woman exclaimed excitedly as she drew me in for a hug. “Glad you could make it. It’s been what? Three months?.”
I laughed at her exaggeration as we separated. “You never change, Lyra. It’s good to see you again.”
“Good to see you return in one piece.”
“Look who finally decided to show up.” A familiar voice taunted and from the corner as I saw Ruby walk out, with Pearl closely behind.
Then another face I hadn’t seen in a long while followed, stunning the daylight out of me.
