“You’re late.”
Toby ignored Brandon, and took a seat beside Brandon facing Jack in the office.
“Sorry, Jack, we just got back from Menacka. It ran longer than necessary.”
Jack rested his chin on his laced fingers. “What’s going on with Kai and Cal these days?”
It wasn’t a matter of what was going on with them socially. Toby was with them most days, and always whenever they left for some “negotiations” with some humans. Not just humans, though. The kind that were more predator than any other beast in this world.
And Cal and Kai were trying to strike some sort of deal with them.
Toby, being that he was still “working” for the Alphas was privy to the private meetings.
