A few days later, the Commissioner General of Police finally came to meet Tyler. It seemed that this case was indeed very serious.
Tyler smiled satisfactorily, he hadn't taken on the wrong case.
The chief warden personally came to fetch him, happiness radiating from his expression. He said to Tyler, "Come on, the Commissioner General has been waiting for you."
Tyler followed without saying a word.
"Remember to mention my name and involve me in it," the chief warden added.
Only then did Tyler speak up, "Of course."
He wondered how he could not involve this corrupt chief warden. As for how it would end, Tyler could only smirk. No wonder his career ended here, this person was quite foolish.
In the closed and secretive room where not even a mosquito dared to enter, the Commissioner General of Police sat upright, awaiting his arrival.
Upon seeing Tyler walking behind the chief warden, a slight c***k appeared in the Commissioner's composed and stern expression. He certainly doubted the man, who was thin and appeared weak, even though his gait didn't resemble that of a gangster.
"Sit," said the Commissioner General after observing Tyler. "Mr. Jorge, you may leave and attend to your other duties."
Those words halted the chief warden, who was ready to sit and listen to their conversation. Despite feeling somewhat displeased, he didn't dare object. After all, the rank of Commissioner General was the highest in the police force.
With a forced smile, the chief warden said, "Very well, Commissioner General. If you need anything, someone is on standby outside."
The Commissioner General was well aware that someone was on standby outside—it was his aide. Nevertheless, to acknowledge it, he nodded.
Once the chief warden left, the Commissioner General's attention returned to Tyler, who sat calmly. As he looked into the young man's eyes, he knew his initial judgment had been wrong. Such a gaze, combined with his composure, clearly indicated he was no ordinary person.
Without beating around the bush, the Commissioner General immediately questioned the main point, "What do you know about the leader of the Vortex Cartel?"
"Isn't he on the run?" Tyler replied.
This was another secret known to very few people, not even all police members were aware of it. This issue was kept hidden to avoid public panic.
The Commissioner General scrutinized Tyler with a more probing investigation, suspicion naturally present. However, it didn't make Tyler afraid at all, he remained undisturbed. The Commissioner's demeanor was quite understandable.
"Yes, I am aware of this, and I can also help find him."
"Help? How do you know about this issue? Are you an accomplice?"
"Of course not," Tyler calmly responded to the accusation. "If I say I know about it by chance, would you believe me?"
"How could that be? There's no such coincidence."
"Exactly." Tyler nodded. "Then I'll be honest—I recently awakened a special ability a few days ago."
The Commissioner General felt skeptical about Tyler's claims. What special ability? He would only believe in logical matters! Nevertheless, he didn't interrupt Tyler's speech.
Leaning slightly forward, Tyler spoke in a low yet clear voice, "I can see someone's or something's past just by touching them."
This was an ability bestowed upon him by the system as a gift. He had used it several times before, and it had proven effective.
There was silence after these words were spoken. Certainly, the Commissioner General didn't believe it, but faced with Tyler's seriousness, he reluctantly eased a bit of his disbelief.
After a moment's thought, he said, "Very well then, prove it."
"Sure. Commissioner General, I need your hand."
"No, not on me." As the Commissioner General, he certainly had many secrets, and even if he didn't fully trust Tyler's words, it didn't mean he let down his guard.
Instead, he tossed his handkerchief.
Tyler didn't mind and used his ability to learn everything about the handkerchief.
"Your daughter bought it two years ago at a Moriline accessories shop..."
He said many things about the handkerchief, including how many times the Commissioner General had used it. Also, some details related to where the handkerchief was placed.
After hearing this explanation, he believed Tyler. However, he still gave him some objects to test. And everything Tyler said was actually true.
In the end, the Commissioner General sighed in resignation.
"Alright, I believe you. Let's talk business, what do you want in return for your help?"
"Not much," said Tyler. "I just want out of jail."
"I'm afraid it's not that easy."
Tyler nodded in agreement, indeed it wasn't easy if he did it himself, that's why he asked for help from someone else who had power.
"Mr. Rodriguez, it's not difficult for you to investigate my case with your ability and rank. You might even know it by now."
In fact, Tyler was not guilty of attempted murder. Not only did he not do it, but he was framed. And during the trial, there was actually no evidence that could incriminate him, but some people used money to press him, forcing him to be a suspect.
It wasn't hard to guess who spent money to send him to jail, and the people involved in it. Anyway, he had seen the memories of the warden.
"I can convince you that I am innocent and clean, but I need your support because my family can't do it."
The Commissioner General clearly knew some of the truth. Moreover, before he actually came to meet Tyler, he had investigated the young man. However, hearing it directly from him, he always felt the injustice of the law that could still be violated by money.
He took a long breath and promised, "I will do it, but meanwhile, you need to assist in the investigation."
