8. The Challenge

Karmin's POV

I was pissed and even that was putting it lightly. I knew Alexia would be a problem but I didn't think she would do this. It took everything I had not to run down those steps and jump into his arms like a little school girl when I had seen him this morning. I won't lie, I was a bit nervousabout us meeting, I had changed a lot since he last saw me and I didn't know if he would like the real me, but the way he looked over my body quickly made any doubts I had disappear.

I sighed. I went to my closet to get out a sports bra and leggings for the challenge. I changed and was putting on my shoes as there was a knock on my door. " Come in". Hailey and Liam walked in and closed the door. Well this couldn't be good. " So how are you feeling? Are you ready for the challenge?" I looked at them both and raised my eyebrow. " What on earth are you two doing. You both know I could end it the minute I walk into the circle" Liam sighed. " We know Karmin, I guess what we want to know is how are you wanting to play this? Alexia thinks you are just some low shewolf that only become Alpha because you were an only child." " I know what that mutt thinks. I can hear her thoughts too you know." I looked at them with anger. She has ruined what was meant to be an amazing day with my mate.

I took a deep breath trying to calm Isabella down. " Only I pack knows what I am and what we are. I'm going to be Queen. Everyone in our pack knows how fair I am but they don't. So with that said, I am not going to shift even if she does. That should kind of give it a fair fight. I will also be holding back. I know it's trying to keep musking who we are and I promise especially to you Hailey that after today they will know what we are." " Thank you Karms, it's been so hard to keep this from Oliver and it's only been a day. I'll go and make sure everyone is there ready and waiting. I suggest you try to relax and get Isabella under control, Your eyes are glowing purple with rage."

I snapped my eyes shut. I didn't like keeping Isabella locked up in the back of my mind like most wolves did. I always thought it was curle to do that was we were one and the same. I took a few deep breaths and opened my eyes. "How do they look like now?" "The stunning hazel that we love" Liam smiled. "Come we better go" I stood up and rolled my shoulders and walked to the training grounds.

The training grounds had everything an Alpha would need to train their pack. The circle as we simply called it was in the middle of the field and slightly lowered. there was seating all around so that people could sit and watch. on the one side there was a platform build for the Royals and elders. The circle was built for this very reason, so that there was a proper place for those who wanted to challenge any other pack member for their rank. Luckily we haven't had to use it until now.

I walked into to the circle and looked around. Alexia wasn't here yet. Once again she was showing just how little she thought of me. I noticed that there was a robe to the side for Alexia incase she shifted. I looked up to where the King would be seated and saw the look of confusion on his face as he stared at the one robe. He lifted his eyes to mine and they turned Black as his wolf was looking me over. He had a look of lust and maybe anger, I could tell what he was thinking but little did he know that I wouldn't need a robe if I shifted.

His mind was the only one I couldn't read with my gift but I know that's because the mate bond would be greater than my power. I mind linked Hailey. "Where the hell is she?! We have been waiting here for 30mins!" I know, I will send someone to look for her. Just be careful your eyes are flashing purple, we don't want to scare them." "At this point I do not care if the secret comes out, it is getting harder and harder to contain Isabella. She is out for blood and you know why"

With that I cut off the mind link. I had enough and so had Isabella. This mutt was showing me and everyone what she thought of her Queen and Isabella wanted her dead for the disrespect. Just as I was about to shift I caught her scent and I growled. " Oh I honestly thought you wouldn't show up" I didn't have to turn around to know that she was smerking at me. Before I could even answer her Nicolaas spoke "ALEXIA! YOU HAVE MADE NOT ONLY BOTH PACK MEMBERS AND MYSELF BUT ALSO YOUR QUEEN WAIT!!! YOU HAVE SHOWN LITTLE TO NO RESPECT FOR THE KLIENBAY PACK AND ALSO THE ROYAL PACK!! BUT MOST OF ALL YOU HAVE SHOWN NO RESPECT TO YOUR QUEEN, MATE! YOU HAVE WASTED PRECIOUS TIME THAT I COULD BE HAVING WITH MY MATE!!!! NOW HURRY THE F***K UP SO THAT I CAN GET SOME TIME ALONE WITH MY MATE!!!!"

We all just stood there in silence looking at him. He'll inwas even looking at him with my mouth open. In his rant he had made it very clear not only to her but to anyone else that was here that he puts me even above himself. That it might be ok to waste his time but it definitely is not ok to waste mine. I couldn't help but smile up at him. He just publicly told everyone that he wanted and accepted me as his mate and Queen. Normally neither wolf would need to actually accept their Goddess given mate but because he was King he needed to accept me and I him.

I turned and looked at Alexia, her face was starting to get red. Now it was my turn to smirk. " Exactly Alexia. Who do you think you are to waste your Queen's time! I have better things to do than this" now her face was red and she was huffing and puffing. I stole a look at Nicolaas and I could see the look of love as he watched me. We both just publicly accepted each other which was meant to make this fight irrelevant, but I was a woman of my word. If she wanted to be Queen she had to fight me for it. This really pissed her off. She let out a growl and ran to tackle me. At the last moment I side stepped her effortlessly.

Alexia fell to the ground, this whole thing just made her angrier and we had barely even started the challenge. She tried to throw one or two punches and there was a kick here and there that I just doged effortlessly. Hailey gave me a look and I remember that I had to at least let her hit me once or twice to make it look like I was even giving her a chance. So far Nicolaas had been calm sitting and almost relaxing in his chair... I wonder what his reaction would be if I got hit. So the next punch I let Alexia land, it was a blow to the ribs. Her punch wasn't soft but I have definitely been hit harder but Nicolaas on the other hand was up on his feet gripping the railing, looking to make sure I was OK. I gave her a smile and looked nodded towards him showing her how much he cared for me.

This sent her into a frenzy. She wasn't even concentrating which allowed me to land one or two "hard" blows of my own. We had been fighting for about an hour now and surprise neither one of us were backing down. She was sweating and breathing heavily where as I was breathing as if I was taking a slow walk along the beach with not a single sign of sweat any where. I could see the Royal Pack members looking at me with curiosity. She was their best female fighter, I should be trying to catch my breath but the truth was, I wasn't. Alexia had me in some sort of head lock, I locked eyes with Hailey and she gave me her classic I'm bored so hurry the hell up look.

As I was about to grab Alexia and finally end this she lent forward and hissed in my ear. " Just give up already! I am the better woman, I should be Queen not you!" I laughed at her, she was truly pathetic but before I could answer her... " I'm a better woman than you in every way he needs. He doesn't need some young pathetic she wolf who was just lucky to become Alpha, who mo one has challenge ld her because they feel sorry for her loosing her parents." I could feel myself starting to get angry and Isabella was getting closer to the surface. I shut my eyes because I know they would be glowing purple. " You will never be able to satisfy him like I can." I stiffened "Even if you by some miracle win, he will always be comparing you to me and I will always be better. You will never be enough woman for him." Flashes of his 18th birthday came back, the gasps and moan that were coming from his room. Nicolaas moaning as he was pounding into her. I was trying my hardest to keep from letting Isabella out.

"You will never be able to pleasure him the way I can. Why do you think he kept coming back to me? Even after you turned 18 and you both knew for sure you weren't mates, he still didn't want you he came to me and spent the night and the night after that in my bed. He is just choosing you because now that you are the second largest pack, only by what a few thousand. It is just better if you loose and just let us be a family" Family? The place fell to a complete silence. my eyes were still shut. I listened... it was faint but I could hear another heart beat coming from her. I pushed her back and heard her shift. I had had enough, I open my eyes and I knew they were glowing purple. I was done trying hide my aura and I let the angry just roll off of me. I looked at Nicolaas and his face was white.

I had shifted before I even turned to face her. I let Isabella take control.

K: just don't kill her. She might have the King's baby

I: all the more reason for her to die.

K: no we will not be that kind of ruler!

I: fine but I will make this hurt

Isabella cut me off after that. Isabella was at least 3x Alexia's muddy brown wolf. Both growled and snapped at each other. Alexia charged forward and Isabella grabbed her by the throat. I could see Alexia's mother stand up a gasp. So I guess everyone heard the stupid b***h, just great. With a quick turn of her head there was a load pop and Alexia went limp. Isabella gave back control and we shifted back.

I could feel my eyes were still purple but I didn't care. Alexia was just laying on the ground but no one made a move. Nicolaas clearly was shocked. He had no I Dea that I was a white wolf let alone that my wolf was that big. Everyone was staring at me except for one of the Royal deltas who was staring at Alexias body... hmm interesting. Alexia's mother was crying hysterically and I just wanted quiet. "SHUT UP! YOUR STUPID F*****KING MUTT OF A CHILD IS ALIVE. I JUST KNOCKED HER OUT! BUT I PROMISE SHE IS GOING TO WISH SHE WAS DEAD!!!" the crying stopped immediately and I could see the look of shock and confuas to how I could us my Alpha command on her and have her obey. By now it was obvious that I wasn't just any type of wolf but still I shouldn't have been able to do that.

I mindlinked some of my Deltas to take her body to the hospital. "You are to stay with her and bring her to the conference room when she wakes up." "Yes my Alpha"they nodded to me which was new and picked her up and took her to the hospital. Her parents started to go after her but Oliver growled at them and told them to sit down. His mother whimpered but sat down. The Delta was watching with blank look on his face as they carried her away. "You" He looked at me shocked. "How... how can you mind link with me?" "There is much you all don't know about me. You will come to the conference room in 30mins there is much we have to discuss" I narrowed eyes at him. He nodded his head at me and turned away.

I started to walk back to the pack house. I couldn't even look at him. I actually couldn't even look at anyone. I was afraid that Isabella would take over control and kill people. Hailey tried to stop me. I growled at her and she jumped back. Oliver rushed and pushed her behind him and gave me a look. I could see he was conflicted, he didn't want to disrespect me but at the same time the need to protect his mate was strong. Liam coughed and I shot him a look.. I took a deep breath. " I will see you all at the conference room in about an hour. I'll have our lunch served there." I turned to walk and saw Nicolaas heading to the direction of the pack hospital.. Was he really following her after everything? Doesn't he know how upset I am? Does he even care?

I looked down and walked off. I can't believe that he slept with her more than once. He always said that he had waited, I knew he wasn't telling the truth but now it made sense why he always changed changed subject or looked so horrified when it was brought up. Why he couldn't really meet my eyes if we were in person. I wonder how many other women there had been or was it just her? Pregnant? There was no doubt that she was but still I asked the doctor to check and confirm.

By the time I had finished with my thoughts I was standing in my shower just letting the water fall onto me. Maybe.. The Goddess made a mistake?

Nicolaas POV

I needed some space to think. I looked around and the only direction I could go in was towards the pack hospital. I know she is going to think I'm checking on Alexia but I just need space to breathe. If she asked the staff there they would tell her the truth, that I never stepped foot in there. All I wanted to do was go to her pull her into my arms and tell her it will be alright, tell her how proud I am of her. But the way she just reacted to Hailey her best friend... well maybe we need a little time.

I couldn't believe what had just happened. A white wolf. Karmin was a white wolf. It explained so much, why her parents kept her wolf hidden. Why her pack was so secretive when questioned. Her wolf had these most beautiful purple eyes, and her strength. The moment the challenged started I could tell she was holding back. The fact that she could have ended Alexia the moment she walked in but didn't... It just showed what an amazing Queen she is going to be. I stopped. To be honest I don't know if she even wants to be with me any more... after this crap Alexia pulled. If she is pregnant there is no way its mine. We haven't slept together in months, meaning if it was mine she would either have already given birth or was about to. But thanks to her little speech the seeds of doubt have been sowed.

Goddess I hate her. There is no way I will allow her to stay in the pack after this. For the most part the pack is a bit old fashioned and I'm sure she did this thinking I would make her my Queen and Karmin my mistress. But the truth is that would never going to happen. The pack might be stuck in some parts in the 1700s but I sure as hell wasn't. We live in the 21st century and I sure as s**t will be getting a test done as soon as that baby is born to prove its not mine.

I looked towards the pack house. Will was going crazy in my head. Yelling at me to go to our mate and for once I was actually going to listen to him. I walked towards the pack house and could see everyone's eyes following me. I walked into the house and up the stairs. I hadn't been to this side of the house but I was assuming that her floor would be the top floor. As I passed each floor I noticed that when I got to the family suites that the out sides looked alot like penthouse suites.

Suddenly all I could smell was this amazing scent of peonies and vanilla and I released a breath I didn't know I was holding in. Her scent was calming me and I needed to be calm. I was surprised that the door was unlocked to her suite. Either she was hoping I would come through or she kept it unlocked. "We definitely will be having this locked when I move in" I stopped. Move in? I shook my head and walked in. I stopped in my tracks. This place feels like home. I looked around and I couldn't believe that she took my advice as if she knew when she was building this place that we would be mates. It is just how I've been wanting to update the castle but couldn't.

As I walked around I noticed two scents that clearly belonged to males. I growled.

W: She is ours!!! I will find and kill these males who dare entre our suite!

N: calm down Will, I would like nothing more to kill them too but qe know that one of them belongs to her Gamma.

Will cut me off. Ever since we got her and saw her, he has becoming harder and harder to control. I have always been bigger and stronger than the rest of the wolves but I always put that down to me being the next in line.

As I walked around I took note how many rooms looked like they were just waiting to be turned into nurseries and smiled. So she wants a large family... well I can definitely give her that. I followed her scent and opened the door to our room. I just stood there. Every suggestion I gave was in this room. It was like she had this room built for us and not that stupid pup that was her mate. This made both Will and I smile. The other thing I noticed is that Liam's scent is the only male scent in here and doesn't go any further than the couch by the door.

Ok good so no other male has been here which means.... I smelt her bed. Peonies and vanilla filled my senses and I immediately relaxed. She hasnt shared this bed with anyone. I am hoping that she is still a virgin but I couldn't blame her if she didn't wait. I know how hard it is for an Alpha and I wouldn't let it stop me if she hadn't. Will agreed, though he couldn't decide if he would find the male that dared touched what was our and kill him... The thought was inviting but I knew Karmin would never forgive us regardless of her feelings for him.

A picture caught my eye on her night stand... it was an oil painting of me on my coronation day... but before I could pick it up an omega entered the room.

" your Majesty, the Alpha has requested your presence in the conference room" I saw that the little she wolf had her head bowed. " very well, please show me the way." She turned and walked out. I guess it's time for me to get some answers.
