Sandra swerves hard into a sharp bend, tires screaming, and my heart jumps straight out of my throat.
I slam back into the seat, my hands flying for anything solid to grab onto.
“Jason, I swear to God," she curses, slamming at the steering wheel, "I’ll skin him alive when I get my hands on him.”
I clutch the dashboard so hard that my knuckles turn white and snarl, "That’s if you don’t ram us into a tree first!”
She doesn’t slow down. She just grins like a maniac.
Soon we pull up to the hospital, the car stopping so fast that my head almost crashes at the dashboard.
Three hours away from New York. That’s how far the hospital is. But it only takes Sandra channeling her inner James Bond to get us here in half.
