The Intruder

Titus…   "Calling all tier 8 employees and trainers report back to HQ immediately. CODE: RED OMEGA. CODE: RED OMEGA."  Mother and I look at each other and run, our argument forgotten. What? How, in the name of all that is blessed did the whole HQ get taken over? If beta means that one wing of the facility was taken over and alpha means one of the three buildings of HQ were taken over, than omega means the whole HQ was taken over. Including all 50 floors of the support building, 50 floors of the building dedicated to the savior program which includes dorms cafeteria and training rooms and the 20 floors of all the rest. They would need at least 100 people to just take the building-A which only has 20 floors. How many people are there?         Our apartment is very close to HQ and as were running I quickly leave my mother behind. Just a bit farther. As I get to the front gate my Uno H comes live and floats toward me. What? Did they not deactivate the support items yet? This means that they are inexperienced since they left such big support untouched. Does this mean that they left the others alone? What about the employees at night shift? Where are they? My Uno H is keeping up with me as we run through the courtyard. "Uno H, CODE: RANGER .How many people are in the corridors in building-A?" I ask.                                          "None Ti-tus" What? How is that possible? As I'm running I don’t see anyone. Where is everyone?          "How many in the twin fifties?" The hell.                                                                                                                  "None Ti-tus, in- fact all electricity of both towers is cut off" What? I look around and realize he's right. But then what is the light on top of the support tower? I sigh this is going to be boring after all. This is almost too easy. "Uno H weaponize." It's not the best weapon but one does best with what one gets.                           I go in through the side garbage chute which goes to all floors of the support tower. It’s a bit of a climb but I can manage.                                                                                                   Eriee…                                                                                (2 hours ago)                                                I wake from my slumber and since it was chemically biased, I wake with a clear head. Look around, it's dark. I squint and see a tray on the side table, it's filled with food. I look around some more and notice my e-cig beside the tray. The battery is full, so is the nicotine. I turn it on, take a puff and it feels as if I relax for the first time since I died and came back.               A full minute goes by according to the light up clock and I'm already bored. I think about all that has happened and realize that they didn’t even bother explain properly. The hell? That pisses me off. But no matter what I do it seems I have to wait until morning. But even then I doubt that they’ll pay attention to me. Unless. Unless I make them pay attention. I giggle at the thought. Why not? I'm bored anyway. I stretch and I'm ready, Ok let's go. I gently take my I.V off but as I'm about to leave my stomach grumbles. I promptly turn around and taste the food. Belch, disgusting. I take another puff. I guess nicotine will have to do. Mmm sour apple vapor tastes the best.                           Ok what's the plan? Well I suppose. First isolate any and all personnel. To do that find the main control panel and since you don’t know where you are find the security room. Ok walk fast and like you have something important to do. I shoved my e-cig into a pocket of the hospital gown and keep walking. As I speed walked through the mainly empty corridor, the odd orchestra music they used to play at the orphanage started playing in my head, it happened sometimes. Those nights in the crowded bedroom where I lay awake and listened to the head matron play her hypnotizing music as everyone slept are one of the few happy memories I have. They make my steps light so instead of speed walking I'm slowly and clumsily waltzing through the emptying hallways. It's okay I have time.                                                                     Time goes by and I'm soon alone for many minutes. So it was a surprise when someone stopped me by grabbing my arm. Was I so stuck in my head that I didn’t notice him. "May you be blessed miss, and I'm sorry to disturb but I've been watching you for quite some time now and please, believe me I didn’t mean to be creepy but from far away you looked so sad, just a girl dancing alone in an empty hall but the closer I got the happier you looked so I came to ask what was so happy that you did not notice me approach you." This dude babbled on and on. Hes wearing a sort of black uniform similar to the one who came to test me wore. His skin is lighter than mine but his eyes are brown like mine.  I looked at his arm until he pulled away and blushed. Why is he so nervous? I'm curious so I ask him. "Why are you so nervous?"                                                                                                                                         "Co-could you just answer the question please?" He's stuttering now but I find him endearing so I'll play nice.                                                                                                                                                                                    "I can't answer that but let me warn you, I heard there's intruders about so maybe it would be safe for you to go somewhere safe."                                                                                                                                         "Wh-what intruders? Shouldn’t we inform the authorities?"                                                                                                                                                                        "No. " I answer calmly, I anticipated this. "Would you want to bother them over a silly rumor after all if they were good intruders then they wouldn’t be going around telling people would they?"                         "I suppose not." I turn to leave but he catches my hospital gown and say.                                                         "Then shouldn’t you be going to a safe place too? If you want you could come back to my room with me?" He finishes it like a question like even his not sure what his talking about.                                             I smile and say "If I go hide then who's going to do the intruding?" And before he can do anything I whisk out of sight. Crap, I shouldn’t have said that to him now I got to do this as fast as possible.                                                                                  (Present time)                                                                     Taking over this place is a lot harder than I thought it would be. A lot harder, but that’s to be expected as this place does have more advanced and unfamiliar technology. But I'm also bored. Waiting for them to come but what's taking so long? I mean, I don’t expect for them to be here no sooner than an hour but seriously I'm so bored on top of a huge building all alone sitting on machinery. All this seems so familiar and at the same time not. I take out my cig and try to make circles of smoke.                          I wish I could be a decent human being and give a rat's ass about what happened to Earth but I just can't bring myself to give a damn. Maybe if- I stop abruptly someone is behind me, I turn around and see nobody behind me. Huh I thought so. I turn in front to see a man in front of me with a gun c****d straight at my forehead.
