Leilani, Before the Tail

IF you're reading this I'm just going to assume that you finished the end of my story. Im sure most of you read the ending and were done, you probably didn't think any deeper into other parts of it. But I also believe that some of you just stopped and thought, wait I wonder what happened in Leilani’s childhood that made her brother the only one she can count on. Well if you didnt think like that before, well i'll bet you are now! Oh, you still don't think it's important to the story line? Well too bad because i'm going to tell you the story anyway.

As usual I come home just to the normal, my parents fighting and my little brother crying in his room. I walked up to him and hugged him “I know its hard. But in a few years we can move out. We can finally escape all the hell they put us through. We’ve survived all these years, there is no way we can give up now.” He looked at me sobbing “I know sis. It, its just so hard to put up with this. I don't think I ever would have made it all these years without you to push me forward. Leilani? Can you promise me one thing, just one thing. Never leave me to fend for myself here. You're the only one who can make me smile sis.” I smiled sweetly at him, tears of pure emotion pricking my eyes. I never broke eye contact with him and said truthfully “I promise that I will never leave you alone for more than a day.” Little did I know that I would break my solemn promise to my brother. Little did I know that one little mistake such as going sailing right before a storm hit, and meeting the supposed love of my life, was all that it took for my only one this TRUE love, my brother, to get KILLED.
