CHAPTER 18 Group Captain Donald Forbes was a worried man. Perturbed by what he’d seen as an overreaction by Douglas Ryan to the situation in Olney St. Mary, he’d requested a private meeting with the virologist. Now, he sat eye to eye with Ryan in the latter’s office. Charles Macklin was nowhere to be seen. “Just why did you ask to see me this morning, Group Captain?
