Emily's heart raced as Damien revealed his true nature. She had heard stories of vampires before, but she had never believed they could be real. Now, face to face with one, she didn't know what to think.
"You're a vampire?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady.
"Yes," Damien replied. "And you are my chosen bride. We were meant to be together, Emily. You are the one I have been waiting for."
Emily looked at him, trying to understand what he was saying. She didn't want to believe it, but there was something about him that made her feel both afraid and excited at the same time.
"What does that mean?" she asked.
"It means that I have chosen you to be my eternal companion," Damien replied. "You will become like me, Emily. A creature of the night, with immortality and powers beyond your wildest dreams."
Emily felt a chill run down her spine. She didn't know if she was ready for that kind of life. But she also couldn't deny the pull she felt towards Damien.
"I don't know," she said. "I need time to think."
Damien smiled, his eyes shining in the dim light of the room.
"Take all the time you need, Emily," he said. "But know that I will always be here, waiting for you."
