Over the past few days, Colt and I had been doing our recon separately. I know it was hard for him to watch me leave at the start of each day, but I was proud of him for never letting his worry for my safety get the better of him. I'd never done this kind of work, I'd only read about it. I was always the one handling the information. I rarely gathered it, at least not in this capacity.
